There are five meetings in Britain and Ireland on Tuesday and two Listed races make up the highlights on the Lingfield card as Racing Post tipster Graeme Rodway gives his best bets.
The Follow @racingtv On Twitter Handicap (12.20) kicks off the action at Chelmsford and SINDRI might be capable of building on a promising run at Wolverhampton last Thursday.
Sindri came up against a hot field of stayers on that occasion and the first two home, Surrey Belle and Artisan Dancer, are improving three-year-olds.
Sindri was beaten only three and a quarter lengths into fifth on that occasion and recorded a career-best on Racing Post Ratings.
That was an excellent start to her life over staying trips and she definitely improved for going over three furlongs further than she had done before. There could be more to come at 1m6f.
This is only her seventh outing and it looks significant that trainer Michael Bell turns her out quickly under jockey Harry Davies, who has a win, two seconds and three thirds from just ten rides for the stable.
That is enough to convince that Sindri will find the required progress.
Sindri @ 16/1 - 1pt win
The River Eden EBF Fillies’ Stakes (1.47) is one of the co-feature Listed races at Lingfield and it provides a good opportunity for the lightly-raced EMPRESS WU to record a second win.
Empress Wu’s sole success came at this course on her debut last November and she progressed nicely on her first three runs this season.
She finished second in a Listed race at Goodwood in June and improved once again when third in a Group 3 at Deauville in July.
She needs to bounce back from a disappointing run behind Al Qareem at Chester in September, when she finished 25 lengths behind the winner, but this is a weaker race and she has been given a 52-day break since.
That should have freshened her up for a crack at this prize.
Trainer David Simcock’s team is in superb form and Jim Crowley - who rode Empress Wu when she won here last year - is an eye-catching booking.
He doesn’t ride many on the all-weather and has five winners from 31 rides for the Simcock yard in the last five seasons.
Empress Wu @ 7/1 - 1pt win
The first day of the Warwick Winter Festival takes place on Tuesday and ACCIDENTAL LEGEND may offer some value in the Trustatrader Fully Vetted Tradespeople Handicap Hurdle (2.30).
The Fergal O’Brien-trained six-year-old has run three abysmal races on his last three starts and was beaten by 38 lengths by the winner when last of nine on his seasonal reappearance at Market Rasen in September.
However, he did the same last season before scoring second time up.
He was beaten by 49 lengths at Stratford on his seasonal reappearance last year, but improved significantly for the run to go on and win his next three in a row.
Accidental Legend has now dropped back to a mark just 1lb lower than for his last success and looks well handicapped.
He returns to 2m with cheekpieces on for the first time and it’s worth taking a chance on him bouncing back to form for regular rider Paddy Brennan, who is at the track for this ride alone.
Accidental Legend @ 14/1 - 1pt win
