Karl Burke has made a blistering start to the season and particularly with his two-year-olds. DAWN CHARGER can be the latest winner from that generation in the 6f novice at Carlisle.
Dawn Charger is in the upper ranks of Burke’s juveniles and produced a fine debut effort at Pontefract in May behind stablemate World Of Darcy, who franked the form by claiming the runner-up position behind another Burke-trained runner in Elite Status in Sandown’s National Stakes.
The National Stakes is by far the strongest British juvenile race run so far this campaign and the winner is now a short-priced favourite for the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot.
5f already looks a bare minimum for Dawn Charger, who has finished strongly over the minimum trip on two stiff tracks, latterly making all at Ascot on soft ground.
Carlisle also provides a taxing finish and the step up to 6f can see the Soldier’s Call filly, whose dam was a miler, book her ticket to the Albany Stakes at the royal meeting in June.

The highly regarded KINGS TIME appears to have a golden opportunity for Jessica Harrington in the 6f maiden at Fairyhouse.
Harrington branded Kings Time “exciting” in a Racing Post stable tour at the start of the season and this Exceed And Excel colt has shaped with plenty of promise on his two starts.
The first came over 7f last August when he claimed third behind two smart sorts with previous experience in the now 108-rated Greenland and 93-rated Ma Belle Artiste.
Both have landed decent prizes this season and Kings Time showed up well on his seasonal return when dropped to 6f at Cork this month, running green and looking in need of the outing with a solid second.
He will certainly stay further in time, but can make hay as a sprinter for now. Having already shown form strong enough to win an average maiden, a minor step forward should be good enough in a relatively weak contest.
Lightly raced four-year-old NOTIMEFORANOTHER is the runner to make most appeal in the 1m6f handicap later on the card at Carlisle.
Notimeforanother usually races prominently, but missed the break in a Sunday Series Handicap at Musselburgh last time, so was held up as a consequence.
That came over an extended 1m4f and Notimeforanother gave the impression he would prefer going a little further when a staying-on third. That still represented a 1lb improvement on Racing Post Ratings from his 1m6f Southwell success two starts ago, though, and he is going the right way.
He has been handed a Northumberland Plate entry by trainer Keith Dalgleish and would likely require a fair rise in the weights to make the cut for that major mid-season staying handicap.
This six-runner event looks weaker than the two races Notimeforanother has contested recently and from stall one, he can assume a nice prominent pitch early en route to continuing his recent progression.
