Keith Melrose - Triple Time @ 25/1

Queen Anne Stakes, 2.30 Tuesday

There is a lot of deadwood in the Queen Anne, and the market principals are hardly world-beaters either. I would have backed Erevann if he had run, so impressive was he at Longchamp in October.

I opposed Erevann that day with TRIPLE TIME and am willing to take a chance on that horse again in a race that might cut up.

Triple Time looked booked for Group 1 company after winning a Group 3 at Haydock in September. That was on good to firm ground and conditions are set to be much more like that than the very soft at Longchamp, when Triple Time pulled hard and was in a poor position, held up in a steadily-run race.

He still has potential and could cause an upset, or at very least sneak into the three.

Triple Time @ 25/1 1pt each-way

Dave Randall - River Tiber @ 7/4

Coventry Stakes, 3.05 Tuesday

Aidan O'Brien has won this 6f Group 2 juvenile contest on three occasions since 2013 through War Command (2013), Caravaggio (2016) and Arizona (2019), and on the latter two occasions Ryan Moore was in the saddle.

Moore is set to continue his unbeaten winning association with RIVER TIBER after the Wootton Bassett colt followed up his impressive 5.5f Navan debut success by winning going away over 5f at Naas last month.

The step up to 6f on this course should really suit and he is an opening-day favourite worth siding with.

River Tiber @ 7/4 1pt win

Phill Anderson - Adayar @ 9/4

Prince Of Wales's Stakes, 4.20 Wednesday

There was plenty to like about ADAYAR'S return at Newmarket when dominating subsequent Group 1 winner, Anmaat, and Charlie Appleby's horses have been taking a big step forward from their seasonal reappearances this term.

The son of Frankel's career best RPR came at this venue on quick ground and with very little rain forecast, he should get his favoured conditions for the first time in two years.

While he was beaten by Bay Bridge in the Champion Stakes at the end of last season, the 2021 Derby winner wasn't seen to best effect that day and his re-opposing foe would prefer a much slower surface than what he's likely to get here.

Phill Anderson's NAP

Adayar @ 9/4 1pt win

Gary Savage - Astro King @ 10/1

Royal Hunt Cup, 5.00 Wednesday

After 'winning' the race on the wrong side from 1lb lower in 2021, and then finishing an honourable fourth last year from three pounds higher, when again slightly away from the pace, it's fair to say new connections will have targeted this race for ASTRO KING.

With only 15 starts under his belt, he could well be a horse at the peak of his powers, and his latest and only outing of this year, and first for his current yard, was eyecatching to say the least.

That came at York in the fiercely competitive Hambleton where despite being short of room at a vital stage, he finished on the heels of the leaders.

He was only pushed out to achieve his best RPR that day, which bodes well for his stable switch, and granted any kind of luck in running he will be going extremely close

Astro King @ 10/1 1pt win

Andrew Cooper - Montassib @ 14/1

Buckingham Palace Stakes, 6.05 Thursday

Montassib holds an entry in The Wokingham but will surely go for the Buckingham Palace, a race in which he was fifth as the 7/2 favourite last year.

Very strong at the finish that day, having been unable to quicken as well as the winner, he was beaten less than two lengths.

It's hoped he has a more straightforward draw this time around and can sit handier.

Very well backed when more use was made of him at Newmarket last time, he duly got the job done and looked a speedier proposition in the process.

Andrew Cooper's NAP

Montassib @ 14/1 1pt win

Graeme Rodway - Carla's Way @ 3/1

Albany Stakes, 2.30 Friday

This breeze-up purchase cost connections £350,000, but she looks worth every penny judged on her impressive debut victory at Doncaster when she "did it all the wrong way round" according to joint-trainer Ed Crisford but still won easily.

CARLA'S WAY pulled her way to the front and never saw another rival, with the most striking part of her performance coming in the final furlong when she powered through the line to win going away.

She recorded the quickest per-furlong time on a card that featured several races for older horses and the runner-up Star Of Mystery franked the form when scoring by 11 lengths in a novice event over 6f at Haydock last Thursday.

It's going to take a smart one to beat Carla's Way in the Albany if she improves from her debut.

Graeme Rodway's NAP

Carla's Way @ 5/1 1pt win

Robbie Wilders - Ocean Quest @ 14/1

Commonwealth Cup, 4.20 Friday

Jessica Harrington's horses are often underestimated at the royal meeting and OCEAN QUEST looks the latest example.

Odds of 14/1 about her for the Commonwealth Cup look generous.

Ocean Quest ran away with the heavy-ground Committed Stakes on her return, putting away two Ballydoyle runners by six lengths.

One of those was The Antarctic, and while he reversed that form with my selection in the Lacken Stakes, it was clear that Ocean Quest was the best horse in that race.

A wide draw which led her to racing on the unfavoured stands' side put paid to her chances, and she did well to get as close as she did when going down by a head.

That run at least removed any concerns about her handling the quick ground likely to be on offer at Ascot, and she is worth keeping onside.

Robbie Wilders' NAP

Ocean Quest @ 14/1 1pt win
