Gordon Elliott's Teahupoo enjoyed a stunning 2024 National Hunt campaign with three Grade 1 successes and connections will hope for further good fortune this spring.
The son of Masked Marvel started the 2025 season with a runner-up spot to Lossiemouth at Fairyhouse in December 2024, ending a run of three successive victories.

Teahupoo is eight years old, and made his debut in January 2021 at Fairyhouse.
Teahupoo last competed at a weight of 11-10, which is the same weight he has raced off in nine of his last 12 outings.
Teahupoo has competed in 17 National Hunt races since his debut in January 2021. Under Robbie Power, he won his first race at Fairyhouse by 15 lengths at 4/1, before following up that success one month later.
In April 2021, he finished second to Jeff Kidder in the Grade 2 Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Juvenile Hurdle.
After a 215-day break, Teahupoo returned at Naas, beating Quilixios by 12 lengths to win the Grade 3 Fishery Lane Hurdle. Another high-profile win soon followed, with Elliott's charge winning the Grade 2 Sporting Limerick Hurdle in December 2021.
Power guided Teahupoo to Grade 3 glory at Gowran Park in February 2022, only for connections to suffer their first disappointment when he finished ninth in the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham in March 2022.
He then finished last of six in the Irish Champion Hurdle at Punchestown before Elliott and his team decided to give him the rest of the season off.
After 219 days away from the track, fans were delighted to see Teahupoo return to winning ways at Fairyhouse. Jack Kennedy was booked to ride and he guided the 20/1 shot to glory in the Hatton's Grace Hurdle.
That was the start of another chapter in Teahupoo's career, as he has not finished outside the top four since then.
His Grade 2 win in the John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park in January 2023 was soon followed by a third-place effort in the Stayers' Hurdle.
In December 2023, he won the Hatton's Grace Hurdle for a second time ahead of Impaire Et Passe.
His first Cheltenham Festival victory was one to savour as he won the Stayers' Hurdle after beating Flooring Porter in March 2024. He won the Champion Stayers' Hurdle at Punchestown two months later and he will be expected to challenge for the same races this year.
In his preparation for the Festival, Teahupoo returned at Fairyhouse in December, and connections will not have been too disappointed to see him finish second to Lossiemouth.
Teahupoo has already had his prep run for the Cheltenham Festival, so he is expected to compete in the 2025 Stayers' Hurdle alongside the likes of Home By The Lee, Lucky Place, Gowel Road and The Wallpark.
Teahupoo is owned by Robcour Racing, which is a business owned by Brian Acheson.
Acheson is the CEO and part-owner of Dornan Engineering, one of Ireland's biggest engineering companies.
As well as Teahupoo, Robcour owns Bob Olinger, Fil Dor, Gentlemansgame, Gerri Colombe and Slade Steel.
Teahupoo is trained by Gordon Elliott, one of the most successful trainers of the last decade.
Elliott has won the top trainer award at Cheltenham on two occasions, and he is one of the leading Irish trainers alongside Willie Mullins.
He has won the Grand National and Gold Cup in his career, as well as the Cross Country Chase.
Teahupoo has an official rating of 164, even after his runner-up finish at Fairyhouse in December.
Connections have won £643,304 from Teahupoo's successful career, with a whopping £567,544 claimed from his victories alone.
Despite failing in their bid to win the Hatton's Grace Hurdle for a third time in December, connections have still focused their attention on Teahupoo's Stayers Hurdle defence in March.
There has been no update from Elliott or the owners about the plans for the rest of the season, suggesting Teahupoo will follow a similar schedule to 2024.
