The traditional Cheltenham roar will send the runners and riders on their way for the curtain-raising Michael O'Sullivan Supreme Novices' Hurdle on Tuesday afternoon as the 2025 Cheltenham Festival begins.
The two-miler has been won a record seven-times by trainer Willie Mullins, the Festival's all-time leading handler with 103 winners.
Mullins has a strong hand to play again now, with outstanding Dublin Racing Festival winner Kopek Des Bordes joining the excellent Salvator Mundi in helping to ensure the Closutton chief saddles half of the field.
Fellow Irish raider Romeo Coolio for Gordon Elliott is the big threat to the Mullins hordes on paper, while last year's winning trainer/jockey combo of Henry De Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore team up with Workahead this time around.
William Munny is a lively contender for Barry Connell and will carry the same colours as Marine Nationale did in 2023.
The Paul Nicholls-trained Tutti Quanti completes the home field, while Tripoli Flyer has been declared a non-runner.
There are 11 confirmed runners for the Michael O'Sullivan Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham.
