Here are the latest horse racing betting tips for Thursday's racing from Punchestown and Huntingdon from Racing Post tipster Robbie Wilders.
14:25 Punchestown - Favori De Champdou @ 7/1
14:55 Punchestown - William Munny @ 8/11
15:45 Huntingdon - Dirty Den @ 9/2
14:25 Punchestown - Favori De Champdou @ 7/1
Gordon Elliott has plundered five of the past seven runnings of the Punchestown Grand National Trial and further big-race success awaits courtesy of Favori De Champdou.
Although Favori De Champdou is now 10 years old, he hasn’t had much racing, and the impression remains that he is capable of landing a big staying handicap.
He was a smart novice chaser two seasons ago (was sent off 3/1 for a Leopardstown Grade 1) and his two runs this season in top handicaps since the cheekpieces were added have been commendable ones.
His conditional rider has been getting a good tune out of him this term and this longer trip on soft ground is exactly what he needs.
14:55 Punchestown - William Munny @ 8/11
The clock is ticking for any last-minute festival clues, but there may be one forthcoming in the following Listed novice hurdle at Punchestown through William Munny. He receives weight from his primary form rivals and should have no trouble doing the business.
The seven-year-old represents the same owner and trainer as the 2023 Supreme winner Marine Nationale and his campaign has presumably been crafted with that race in mind.
His two hurdles efforts have yielded solid runner-up finishes behind festival-bound pair Kawaboomga and Workahead, and he looks the type who is going to continue to improve with racing.
Top-class in bumpers, William Munny can take the next step on the road to Cheltenham.
15:45 Huntingdon - Dirty Den @ 9/2
Dirty Den appears to have every chance in the 2m novice handicap hurdle at Huntingdon for Anthony Charlton.
The selection was well backed to collect a similar race at Wincanton last month, but may have made up his ground from the rear too quickly before his run petered out in the closing stages.
That was probably a warm event anyway, a feeling backed up by the winner, third and seventh compiling subsequent form figures of 212.
A 3lb rise for Dirty Den, who was useful in bumpers for former connections and finished 11th in the big one at Cheltenham, looks surmountable with the excellent Callum Pritchard taking 5lb off.
