With bet365 offering a standout six places, it's worth looking for some each-way value in Wednesday's opener and one that makes plenty of appeal at the prices is Dark Thirty.
The six-year-old has been in the form of his life this season, winning a competitive six-furlong handicap at this venue and he then bounced back from a couple of lesser runs to win a competitive contest at Chester in June.
He then narrowly missed out in the Scurry Handicap at the Curragh, just failing to see out the extended six-furlong trip, and a drop back to York's extended five could be a good move given that he has speed to burn early in his races.
Dark Thirty was admittedly a little disappointing at Glorious Goodwood last time out but he was a shade too keen while also involved in an early pace battle and the drop back in distance may just help him settle better.
He's now on a career-high mark, but there's a chance he'll get left alone on the stands' rail, and he could be hard to keep out of the frame if that's the case.

It looks like an above-average renewal of the Acomb, with a chance taken on the Galway Festival winner, Trean.
The colt seemed to relish a step up to this trip last time out, making all to win by nearly five lengths and multiple entries at Group 1 and 2 level suggest there's plenty more to come from this son of Bayside Boy.
The turn of foot he showed at Galway could be a major factor in his favour on a speed track like York and all of his upcoming entries are over seven furlongs, so there's no concern that he may need further, unlike several of his rivals.
It's also worth noting that the yard do well with the runners they send over to York. They have had two winners and three places from nine representatives and there's a chance this one will be vying for favouritism by Wednesday afternoon.
16:45 York - Naana's Shadow @ 4/1
Naana's Shadow is on a roll this campaign, winning four of her seven starts since joining Katie Scott in the off-season. She's shown how effective she is on speed tracks on her last couple of starts here and at the Glorious Goodwood Festival last time.
The filly continues to shoot up the handicap but given that connections have revealed Group 1 targets for this daughter of Havana Grey, the assessor may struggle to keep up with this thriving three-year-old.
Her yard really excels with sprinters; she's already a course and distance winner and with Oisin Murphy booked, there's every chance she's going to be hard to beat.
