There's another cracking renewal of the Melbourne Cup in the early hours of Tuesday morning with an intriguing 24-runner renewal of the race that stops a nation.
Racing Post tipster Phill Anderson provides his best tips for the biggest race on the Australian racing calendar.

Australia’s greatest race is back at 4am on Tuesday morning and the international runners are worth close consideration given the visitors’ recent record in this contest, winning three of the last seven renewals through Twilight Payment, Cross Counter and Rekindling.
The high-profile scratching of the impressive St Leger winner, Jan Brueghel, was a blow to the hopes of the Irish, but they still have a strong hand with the two Willie Mullins contenders.
From Vauban and ABSURDE, Vauban heads the market after a productive campaign that included a win in the Group 2 Lonsdale Cup before chasing home Kyprios in the Irish Leger.
That can be considered top-class form and he ought to go well again despite having to carry topweight, but his stablemate Absurde could be on a more lenient mark.
He’s getting 6lb from Vauban, which looks on the lenient side after his Chester Stakes success when last seen and the turn of foot this horse has is often a big asset in the Melbourne Cup, which can be a sit and sprint race, despite the two-mile distance.
He ran with credit in this contest last year, arguably going for home too soon under an aggressive Zak Purton ride and he could have no better man on top for this year’s assignment, with the talented veteran, Kerrin McEvoy going for a remarkable record equalling fourth win in the race.
04.00 Flemington - Zardozi @ 11/1
From those at bigger odds, it may be worth taking a chance on ZARDOZI who can offer some insurance with an each-way saver.
Like most Kingman progeny, she seems to relish the really quick ground that she generally encounters in Australia and the filly has got some smart form to her name over the last 12 months, including winning the Grade 1 Kennedy Oaks at this meeting last season.
Subsequently, she’s kept some smart company, winning a Group 2 at Rosehill at the start of the year and she’s bounced back to form in recent starts having only been just touched off in a Grade 1 handicap at Randwick on October 5th.
More recently she’s posted two more creditable efforts behind the likes of Duke De Sessa and Atishu, the latest worth marking up given that it was over an insufficient mile.
The two-mile trip is the big question mark for Zardozi, having shown her best form at middle distance, but she’s shaped like it will suit at times and there’s a bit of hope on the dam’s side of her pedigree that it will be in her favour, so two miles is no forlorn hope.
The return of Andrea Atzeni in the saddle has to be a positive and the combination look capable of going well at big odds.
