It is the Golden Eagle at Randwick and the feature looks primed to be another exciting contest. Sheza Alibi is set to be a hot favourite once again but she was beaten at odds-on when last seen, for all she was closing with every stride and unlucky to not secure the win.
The undercard has the Russell Balding Stakes and there is recent Everest form on display with fourth-placed Headwall turning up as well as the likes of Jimmystar among others. It is bound to be a great weekend in Sydney.

This is a super competitive race and five runners from the Everest are taking on each other once again. There is no Tempted or Ka Ying Rising, though, which presents a greater opportunity of success for these five, as well as the rest of the field of course.
The Everest is the main form line to focus on and Headwall finished closest of those re-opposing, but the preference is for Jimmystar who also ran a good race and wasn’t beaten by far when finishing sixth.
He can be frustrating as he tends to be held up and is best at closing off a strong pace, and there is a strong chance he will get that.
Over the course of the past couple of years he has the best form on offer, and with Ethan Brown back in the saddle, they can team up for another success.
They won the race last year, and provided he turns up here in the same level of form, Jimmystar will take all the beating.
05:45 Randwick - Sheza Alibi @ 7/10
The Golden Eagle is the race of the day at Randwick and it is hard to see past the mare Sheza Alibi.
She is electric on her day and comfortably the best of those turning up to contest the race. She was beaten last time, but the race simply didn’t pan out for her.
Back over this shorter distance, and with a good draw too, Sheza Alibi should be too good for the rest of the field.
She has good course form having been successful in two runs at Randwick, and in the other at the track she was narrowly beaten by superstar Autumn Glow.
This looks like the perfect race for her to bounce back from a second at Caulfield last time out, and she should finish the weekend with another win at the highest level on her CV.
