Skelton has established himself as one of Britain's most prolific jumps riders, operating in tandem with his brother Dan, a top trainer, in the Warwickshire countryside.
The Skelton family is synonymous with equestrian excellence, with their father Nick, a champion show jumper, winning gold in the team jumping event for Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics. He then went on to win individual gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
After time spent learning his trade on the Flat at Richard Hannon's yard, Skelton switched to riding over jumps as he found the battle to keep his weight down too much.
His career really took flight when his brother left his position as assistant to Paul Nicholls to go out on his own in January 2013.
His new yard at Alcester would see the brothers teaming up for many successes. Harry has already become champion jockey in 2020/21 and it appears a matter of time before Dan follows as champion trainer.
Harry married fellow jumps jockey Bridget Andrews in 2019 and she is another key cog in the wheel of Team Skelton.
Skelton is 5ft 7" tall.
Skelton's foundation in racing was achieved at Richard Hannon's yard but his weight worries soon put paid to riding on the Flat.
Jimmy Frost was a supporter early on, giving him his first win aboard Temper Lad in a conditional jockeys' selling handicap hurdle in October 2007, but it was on the Bob Buckler-trained Niche Market that Skelton shot to fame, winning the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse in 2009.
He rode winners for Paul Nicholls too but by 2013 his career had stalled somewhat. That was when his brother went solo as a trainer in his own right and Dan Skelton wanted his younger brother front and centre in his adventure.
They have gone on to forge a prolific alliance, with Harry crowned champion jockey in 2020/21 in Britain.
He rode his first Cheltenham Festival winner for the team in the 2016 County Hurdle as Superb Story won.
The have since taken that tally to eight together, including a brilliant quartet in 2024 as Protektorat's Ryanair Chase win was supplemented by Grey Dawning in the Turners Novices' Chase, Unexpected Part in the Grand Annual and Langer Dan winning his second Coral Cup.
Skelton's closest alliance is with his older brother, Dan. They have become synonymous with UK jumps racing together.
The latter came agonisingly close to being crowned champion trainer in 2023/24, inching ahead of his former boss and perennial winner Paul Nicholls only to be undone by the historic success of Willie Mullins.
The Skelton brothers have become prolific at the top level, with emerging stars this season including The New Lion and L'Eau Du Sud, both bound for the Cheltenham Festival with strong hopes in Grade 1 events as novices' over hurdles/fences respectively.
Though he rides predominantly for his older brother, Harry Skelton also has over 60 winners for the Paul Nicholls team, including Politologue in the Queen Mother Champion Chase, while Caroline Bailey, Ian Williams, Oliver Greenall and Lucy Wadham are other trainers for whom he has ridden regularly.
Niche Market will always hold a special place in Skelton's heart, having provided that Irish National success early in his career at Fairyhouse.
Superb Story was his first Cheltenham Festival winner in 2016 while his Grade 1 breakthrough at the Cotswolds showpiece came in 2019 as Roksana won the Mares' Hurdle.
Queen Mother Champion Chase glory arrived via Nicholls' grey Politologue in 2020 while he had his best ever haul with four Festival winners in 2024, the highlight being Protektorat's Ryanair Chase win.
Shan Blue, Allmankind and My Drogo have also been Grade 1 winners in Britain for the Skelton partnership. The New Lion and L'Eau Du Sud are the latest talents to emerge from their Warwickshire base.
