Glorious Goodwood Horse Racing Tips for Saturday

The Glorious Goodwood meeting comes to a close on Saturday and there's another cracking seven-race card to get stuck into.

Here are the latest horse racing betting tips for Saturday's meeting at Glorious Goodwood from Racing Post tipster Phill Anderson.

14:25 Goodwood - Fairbanks @
7/2
15:35 Goodwood - Dark Trooper @
11/2

1.50 Goodwood - Al Aasy - 10/3

The action kicks off on the final day of Goodwood's festival on Saturday with the Glorious Stakes and there's not much to separate the five runners in the betting.

However, AL AASY leads the way on official ratings and it's a slight surprise to see that he's not a clear favourite for this contest.

William Haggas' seven-year-old is a four-time winner at Group 3 level but is off level weights with his rivals having not landed one since last August.

He showed he retains plenty of his old ability when chasing down the re-opposing Phantom Flight in a Listed race at Newbury on his return to action, and it's worth noting that he needed last year's reappearance before scoring a second time out.

The son of Sea The Stars is versatile with regards to ground conditions so any rain won't bother him and the yard have won two of the last four renewals of this race, including last year when Hamish got his head back in front.

This gelding can reverse form with the Newbury winner with a run now under his belt.

14:25 Goodwood - Fairbanks @ 7/2

A quick surface is surely going to suit FAIRBANKS in the Summer Handicap.

Andrew Balding's representative arrives on the back of a career best in a heritage handicap at Newmarket last time and he looks like a typical late developer for this yard that often bring their stayers along steadily.

The course is no issue having won on his sole previous outing here on quick ground and he's unexposed at trips further than one-mile-and-four-furlongs.

Provided the blinkers have the same effect second time out, he could be hard to pass.

15:35 Goodwood - Dark Trooper @ 11/2

A mark of 105 looks workable for DARK TROOPER who has fairly obvious claims in Saturday's feature, the Stewards' Cup.

The four-year-old won in nice style at Saint-Cloud on his return to action and took another step forward when beaten just half a length in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot last time.

That's an effort worth marking up given the position that he came from in the rear and he's another selection that is ground versatile having produced two of his best performances on contrasting going.

A high draw is often an advantage in this race, particularly with some pace on his side for this renewal and he could take some stopping if he continues on his upward trajectory.
