There are two jumps meetings in Britain on Sunday and there are plenty of competitive races on both cards.
Racing Post tipster Gary Savage is on hand to provide his best picks from across the meetings at Ffos Las and Sandown.
13:15 Ffos Las - Phantom Getaway @ 7/1
15:35 Ffos Las - Villainess @ 6/1
12:30 Sandown - Vincenzo @ 10/3
13:15 Ffos Las - Phantom Getaway @ 7/1
Kim Bailey has begun the season in tremendous form, especially with his chasers, with the stable boasting a 24% success rate over the larger obstacles.
The Bailey stable is one that has no trouble getting horses fit for their first start, with the likes of Chianti Classico and Destroytheevidence putting up career-best efforts after absences.
Of the three stable representatives at Ffos Las, who all have chances, Phantom Getaway is likely to represent the best value.
His best run over hurdles came here, over the same trip, after an absence of 231 days in November 2022 off a rating 10lb higher than now.
His career hasn't gone well since that victory, with two more hurdle starts that season followed by a poor first season over fences last winter.
He returns after a wind-op and wearing a tongue, with which his trainer has a 25% success rate in the last five years.
Tom Bellamy is Bailey's new stable jockey, and the pair have a 40% strike-rate over fences this year and they can team up again at decent odds.
15:35 Ffos Las - Villainess @ 6/1
A race that's high on numbers but low on good recent form means Richard Bandey's six-year-old, Villainess, could be a class above the opposition.
She's only won once so far from eight starts, but that victory on good to soft ground at Stratford in April was itself enough to take care of most of this field.
She gave 3lb and a comfortable beating to Hard As Nails that day, and with the runner-up now rated 111 after a string of good performances, the selection's chance is obvious now off a mark of 100.
She shaped as if the step up in trip by half a mile would suit her when running a decent race on her return from a summer break last time, and as a full sister to useful mare Sabrina, whose best performances have come at around three miles, she may improve for it.
12:30 Sandown - Vincenzo @ 10/3
A cracking card at Sandown starts with an uber competitive conditionals' handicap hurdle and, while it looks wide open, the one that catches the eye most is Vincenzo for Sam Thomas.
In the frame in six of his eight starts to date, this will be his handicap debut, but on his run in the Grade Two Persian War at Chepstow last time he looks to have a decent mark.
The winner that day is a talented mare who is being aimed at the Cheltenham Festival, while the runner-up, who was three and a quarter lengths ahead of the selection at Chepstow, ran away with a novice hurdle at Cheltenham and is an Albert Bartlett contender.
With a rating of 126, his chance is obvious and the booking of Patrick Wadge also takes the eye.
Champion conditional jockey Wadge is based with Lucinda Russell, for whom he rode two winners at Kelso recently.
He travels to Sandown for just this one ride and he can enhance his 1-1 record at the course.
