There's top-class action at Fairyhouse on Sunday with competitive races aplenty, as well as Grade 1 action.
Racing Post tipster Gary Savage is on hand to provide his best tips from the card at the County Meath track.
12:00 Fairyhouse - Must Be Obeyed @ 11/2
13:05 Fairyhouse - History Of Fashion @ 14/1
14:05 Fairyhouse - Croke Park @ 20/1
12:00 Fairyhouse - Must Be Obeyed @ 11/2
Connections of a lot of these mares have turned up expecting plenty of give in the ground, but rain looks less likely now than it did earlier in the week and it's worth taking a chance that there isn't a great deal overnight.
The ground looked far from a bog on Saturday and the likes of Queen Jane and Malmason from the powerful Henry De Bromhead and Gavin Cromwell stables are unlikely to get their favoured testing conditions.
They will take a fair bit of the market and the in-form topweight Must Be Obeyed looks worth backing each-way with conditions in her favour.
She has been plying her trade in higher grades than this in recent outings, running to form in a Grade 2 in May before returning this winter with a very encouraging run behind Pink In The Park in a Listed Chase 24 days ago.
That should have put her spot on for this contest in which she was third last year on unsuitably soft ground, and with her stamina assured, Anna McGuinness can ride her prominently and at least get in the places.
13:05 Fairyhouse - History Of Fashion @ 14/1
History tells us that to win this marathon chase, run over almost the same course and distance as the Irish Grand National, you want to be carrying a light weight.
Horses carrying less than 11st, and usually considerably less, have been responsible for not only most of the winners, but almost all of the places in recent years.
There have been a couple of 10-year-old winners not too long ago and I fancy last year's runner-up, History Of Fashion, to go one better and take this prize under Harry Sexton.
He was outstayed last year by the reopposing Street Value and they meet on very similar terms again.
The key to the chances of History Of Fashion is that last year's race was run on much softer ground than we are likely to get today, and that will suit the selection much better.
He proved his liking for the course when fifth in the Irish National off this mark in April, but that too came on heavy ground and he should perform even better in less attritional conditions now.
14:05 Fairyhouse - Croke Park @ 20/1
The Drinmore continues to turn out top-class winners, with last year's victor, I Am Maximus, going on to make mincemeat of his opposition in the Grand National and Willie Mullins' star wasn't unusual in making use of his stamina to take this contest.
Gordon Elliott has taken the race five times in the last nine years, two of those with dour Gigginstown stayers Death Duty and Delta Work, while Noel Meade trained Beacon Edge for the same owner when he took the contest in 2021.
Elliott has two Gigginstown runners this year, both looking likely types, but the vote goes to Croke Park in light of his win at the course in November.
Although Firefox was a classier horse than the selection over hurdles, it's worth remembering Croke Park went off at only 5/1 for the Grade One Sefton Novices' Hurdle at Aintree in April.
Elliott always thought of him as a better chase prospect than hurdler, and with Sam Ewing having a 25% record for Elliott in chases this year it shouldn't be a surprise were he to go very well here.
