17:25 Curragh - Chester Nimitz @ 6/1

14:40 Curragh - Apache Outlaw @ 5/1

Apache Outlaw is surely going to run a big race on his return to the turf in the opening 6f handicap at the Curragh for Ado McGuinness.

The progressive five-year-old has run back-to-back career bests on the all-weather over the last three months and is rated 11lb higher on the sand now.

That leaves him on a good mark for this return to the grass and he will be 16lb better off with Big Gossey from their meeting at Dundalk over a mile this month when only half a length separated them.

While the selection is taking a fair drop in trip, he won over 5f at this course last October to highlight his versatility. McGuinness is always a man to fear in sprint handicaps at this track and it is unlikely we’ve seen the best of Apache Outlaw, who will have a fitness edge over many of his reappearing rivals.

15:45 Curragh - Raadobarg @ 9/1

The Irish Lincolnshire headlines the card at the Curragh and the stars could be aligning for 2022 winner Raadobarg, who makes significant appeal.

Raadobarg won this from a similar draw first time out in 2022 off 3lb higher and was third in the 2024 running from a 10lb higher mark, also from a middle draw.

He debuts for Brazilian trainer Raphael E Freire and that handler has made a bright start to his career in Britain, saddling two Listed winners in the autumn.

First time out is usually the time to catch Raadobarg as he goes so well when fresh. His previous two big efforts in this race came first time out, while he also ran a blinder in the Group 3 Earl of Sefton on his 2023 reappearance. Versatile regarding ground conditions, he won’t be far away granted a bit of luck in running.

17:25 Curragh - Chester Nimitz @ 6/1

Noel Meade is increasingly switching his attention to the Flat and usually has his horses primed to go well at this time of year.

He saddled a 16-1 winner on this card last season and trained the Irish Lincolnshire winner in 2021. His Chester Nimitz could be well worth keeping onside in a competitive running of the 6f maiden that wraps up the card.

Chester Nimitz ran a cracker first time out over 6f for Meade in a Navan maiden last October, showing excellent speed but being outstayed by a short-priced favourite when second in a big field.

He wasn’t quite at that level at Dundalk next time, but the winner looked smart and has gone in again since. This looks a good starting point for the son of Profitable with champion jockey Colin Keane taking the ride for the first time.
