Cheltenham's November meeting draws to a close on Sunday and there is plenty of quality on the card, including the Greatwood Hurdle.
There are three Class 1 contests on a seven-race card on offer in the Cotswolds and Racing Post tipster Dave Randall is on hand to run you through his best selections.
13:10 - Ace Of Spades @ 2/1
13:45 - Peaky Boy @ 11/4
15:30 - Dysart Enos @ 2/1
13:10 - Ace Of Spades @ 2/1
Five runners are set to go to post for the Class 2 extended 2m Maiden Hurdle from Cheltenham (13.10) on Sunday afternoon and Ace Of Spades, representing Dan Skelton with Harry Skelton in the saddle, is considered capable of registering a first success over hurdles.
Dan Skelton went 9-50 (18%) in the past 14 days and is 47-458 (10%) with his runners at Cheltenham.
Ace Of Spades gradually improved in his three runs in bumpers earlier in the year, building on a promising fifth on his debut at Doncaster in January when second at Market Rasen in March, before winning well on decent ground at Warwick in April.
A similar pattern has emerged over hurdles this autumn. The selection ran fourth of 12 on his hurdling debut at Uttoxeter in October and he improved to finish a short-head second of 11 over a slightly longer trip at Exeter later that month.
The five-year-old son of the French sire Dink is a half-brother to the smart 2m hurdle winner Tahmuras, and he has decent win claims, if continuing to improve as seems likely on his first start at Cheltenham.
13:45 - Peaky Boy @ 11/4
Peaky Boy is considered capable of making a winning debut over regulation fences in the eight-runner Class 3 2m4f Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (13.45).
The significant trainer and jockey combination of Nicky Henderson and Nico De Boinville enjoyed a notable chasing double through Hyland and Jonbon on the first day of Cheltenham's November meeting on Friday.
Peaky Boy is bred to build on his two hurdles victories on the New Course at this venue in January and April.
The selection cost £240,000 in March 2022, shortly after winning an Irish point, and finished second and first in a couple of bumpers for Michael Scudamore that autumn.
He returned from a 410-day break to make a winning hurdling debut for his new yard at Cheltenham at the beginning of the year, over this trip on heavy ground, before following up on good ground back here in the spring.
Conditions are ideal for this switch to chasing and a mark of 132 is exploitable.
15:30 - Dysart Enos @ 2/1
Dysart Enos has excellent win claims in the 16-runner extended 2m Greatwood Premier Handicap Hurdle from Cheltenham (3.30).
The selection's trainer Fergal O'Brien is 44-393 (11% +£9.62) with his runners at Cheltenham, including through this charge on the New Course here in December 2023.
The six-year-old is 6-6 under Rules, including three bumper wins and three wins over hurdles. The Malinas mare is 2-2 on good ground and 2-2 at this time of year.
She won the Grade 2 Mares' bumper at Aintree in April 2023, notably beating Golden Ace readily by nine lengths.
Dysart Enos was a leading British hope for the Grade 2 Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the festival in March, but she had to be declared a non-runner at the last minute.
The aforementioned Golden Ace won that contest and, given such form affirmation, it isn't hard to come to the conclusion that she has got in lightly entering handicaps from a mark of 131 on Sunday.
