One of the major highlights of the Scottish Flat racing season, here's everything you need to about the Ayr Gold Cup.
The Ayr Gold Cup is set to take place on Saturday 21st September and is scheduled to start at 16:10 BST.
The Ayr Gold Cup is held at Ayr Racecourse in Scotland, which is home to Flat and Jumps racing.
Ayr Racecourse also hosts the Scottish Grand National and Scottish Champion Hurdle in April.
The Ayr Gold Cup will be streamed live via the bet365 Live Sports Streaming service.
Though television coverage of this year's event is yet to be confirmed, it has previously been televised on ITV and RacingTV.
The first Ayr Gold Cup was held in 1804 and was initially restricted to horses bred and trained in Scotland.
It became a handicap race in 1855 and the length was halves from two miles to one in 1870. 38 years later the race was relocated to a new circuit following the closure of the Belleisle track, with the Ayr Gold Cup held at Whitletts Road ever since.
At the new track, the race was shortened from a mile in length to six furlongs.
With the number of runners capped at 25 and the race consistently receiving a significant amount of entries, the Ayr Silver Cup and Ayr Bronze Cup have been formed as consolation races for those who were excluded from the Gold Cup.
