Confirmed runners and riders for the Arkle Chase

The opening afternoon of the Cheltenham Festival brings lots of Grade 1 action on Tuesday afternoon and the first race over fences will be the Arkle Novices' Chase.

Willie Mullins has won the Arkle in each of the last two seasons with El Fabiolo and Gaelic Warrior and the Closutton maestro sends out leading fancy Majborough now, the mount of Mark Walsh in the hooped silks of JP McManus.

He was impressive at the Dublin Racing Festival last month and his big rival, Sir Gino, misses out here for Nicky Henderson.

Instead, the Seven Barrows supremo will call on Jango Baie in his quest for a record-extending seventh Arkle success.

L'eau Du Sud has been very impressive this season and will be Dan Skelton's first chance of a winner at the Cheltenham Festival this spring.

The field is completed by Touch Me Not for Gordon Elliott and the mare Only By Night for Gavin Cromwell.
