Brendan Rodgers' Celtic's Scottish Premiership title credentials will be put to the test when they face third-placed Hearts at Tynecastle this weekend.

Hearts v Celtic

Scottish Premiership

Reigning champions Celtic have relinquished top spot in the Scottish Premiership having dropped points against Aberdeen and Kilmarnock since the turn of the year, with fierce rivals Rangers opening up a two-point lead in the title race.

Despite their recent struggles, the Hoops will go into their meeting with Hearts full of confidence after trouncing Dundee 7-1 at Celtic Park in midweek, but Steven Naismith's hosts should prove tough opposition.

Hearts have been the best of the rest in Scotland's top flight so far this term, with the third-placed Jambos 12 points clear of Kilmarnock in fourth, and the Edinburgh outfit will be keen to get a positive result against Celtic after a disappointing 5-0 humbling at Ibrox last weekend and a frustrating 1-1 draw against rivals Hibs in midweek.

Hearts v Celtic stats and head-to-head record (H2H)

Having gone an impressive 10 matches unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership between December and February, Hearts have failed to register a victory in their last two league games - going down 5-0 against Rangers at Ibrox and drawing 1-1 at home to rivals Hibs.

Hearts skipper Lawrence Shankland has been on a sensational run of form of late for the Jambos, scoring 15 goals in his last 14 games in all competitions.

Sunday's visitors Celtic have only lost one game away from home in the Scottish Premiership all season, succumbing 2-1 against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in December.

The Hoops have gone 10 matches unbeaten in the league, but their last loss came against this weekend's opponents when Hearts triumphed 2-0 at Celtic Park in December.

Hearts and Celtic have met twice in the Scottish Premiership so far this season, with Brendan Rodgers' side prevailing 4-1 at Tynecastle in October before the Jambos got revenge with a 2-0 win at Celtic Park two months later.
