Have Tottenham Hotspur ever been relegated?

Things are going from bad to worse to worse still under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.

They're one of three teams to have lost all four Premier League games in January and they even laboured to an extra-time FA Cup win over Tamworth.

The Australian is getting increasingly spiky with the media amidst an injury crisis that has seen his side tumble down the table to such an extent that people are actually wondering whether or not they could go down.

The numbers make for extremely grim reading. Spurs have lost six of their last seven, with the other game being a 2-2 draw with Wolves; they've kept four clean sheets all season, to Everton, Manchester United, Manchester City and Southampton; they've conceded at least two in six of their last seven matches; they've lost 13 matches this term, losing more than that in just one of their last 15 seasons.

Whichever direction you look in, things seem extremely grim in North London this season. And yet, there's still every chance they win a trophy and qualify for Europe.

Have Tottenham ever been relegated?

Although they've not been relegated in the Premier League era, Tottenham were relegated from the old First Division back in 1976/77, just four years after winning the League Cup and five years after winning the UEFA Cup, though they did bounce back at the first time of asking.
