Harry Kane Odds v Arsenal: Bayern striker 21/10 to score at the Emirates

Arsenal will welcome Bayern Munich to the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie and the German giants will have a familiar face leading their line in Harry Kane.

Gunners supporters may have thought they had seen the last of England captain Kane, who was a thorn in their side throughout his time representing their North London rivals Tottenham.

However, the 30-year-old will be back at the Emirates on Tuesday where he will be hoping to inspire Bayern into a first-leg lead ahead of next week's return fixture in Munich.

Kane is 21/10 to score any time in the match and his record since joining Bayern, alongside his previous success when facing Arsenal, suggests that is more than just a possibility.

Arsenal v Bayern Munich

Kane has imperious record against Arsenal

Having famously spent a brief period playing in the Arsenal youth system, Kane became the nemesis of the Gunners during his 14 years in the Tottenham first team.

In 17 Premier League appearances against Arsenal, Kane scored an eye-watering 14 goals, the most any player has ever netted when facing the Gunners since the division's inception in 1992, with five of those strikes coming at the Emirates, which is the joint-most for an opposition player at the venue.

Kane set the tone for what was to come by netting a brace in his first appearance against Arsenal - a 2-1 victory for Spurs at White Hart Lane in February 2015 - and it is 14/1 he scores two or more for Bayern on Tuesday.

England's record scorer grabbed his first goal at the Emirates the following season in a 1-1 draw, while he also netted in his most recent appearance at the venue, converting from the penalty spot in a 3-1 defeat for Spurs in October 2022.

One thing Kane has never done against Arsenal is score a hat-trick and it is 80/1 he notches three or more on Tuesday, an unlikely feat, although Bayern have thrashed the Gunners 5-1 in each of the last three competitive meetings between the two sides.

The goals keep flowing with Bayern

Kane's decision to swap Tottenham for Bayern last summer garnered much attention, but the England captain has certainly taken to his new surroundings, scoring a staggering 38 goals in his first 37 appearances for the German giants across all competitions.

Of those 38 goals, 32 have come in the Bundesliga, which is eight more than anyone else in the division, while his tally of six strikes in the Champions League can also not be bettered.

Kane is 11/4 to finish as the leading scorer in this season's Champions League, while he also leads the way in the race for the European Golden Shoe - the award given to the leading scorer across all of Europe's top divisions in any given season - something he has never won before.

It is also 5/1 that Kane goes on to land the Ballon d'Or in 2024 and scoring the goals that helps Bayern not only knock Arsenal out of the Champions League, but go all the way in that competition, will certainly raise the possibility of him picking up that prestigious individual accolade.

Pressure on Kane and Bayern

The pressure will certainly be on Kane and Bayern to deliver on Tuesday, as the Champions League represents the Bavarians' last realistic chance of lifting silverware this season.

Already out of the DFB-Pokal, Bayern are a whopping 16 points behind Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga and they will officially relinquish their grip on that title if they lose at home to Cologne on Saturday or if Xabi Alonso's league leaders beat Werder Bremen the following day.

Kane has, of course, famously never lifted a major piece of silverware during his career and his wait may go on for another season at least unless Bayern, who are 9/1 to go all the way in Europe this term, can claim Champions League glory.

That should certainly give Kane plenty of incentive to hit the ground running on Tuesday and it is 6/1 that he opens the scoring against the Premier League leaders.

The 30-year-old also has 12 assists to his name for Bayern this season and it is 7/1 that he sets up at least one goal at the Emirates, while a goal or an assist from the visitors' number nine has a quote of 13/10.

Time will tell whether Kane can have a decisive say during this first leg or in the tie as a whole, but one way or another, he is likely to garner plenty of headlines along the way.
