Harlem Eubank will be aiming for a year to remember after a disappointing 2024 which had promised much but delivered little.
The 30-year-old returns to the ring on Channel 5 screens on March 7 in his toughest test to date against Belfast brawler Tyrone McKenna.
Will Eubank pass with flying colours or will McKenna prove too tough a nut to crack? Let’s look at the Tale of the Tape.

With only 33 amateur fights to his name, it was always going to take Harlem Eubank longer than expected to make his mark in boxing.
Chris Jr’s cousin hasn’t brought with him the baggage of a world champion parent or a marmite personality but instead a work ethic and a desire to learn under the sharp mind of trainer Adam Booth. But after 20 fights, Harlem now needs to be pushed on so he and his team can discover how far he is going to go in the hurt business.
Against Tyrone McKenna you have the type of opponent that could make you look a million dollars or have your frailties exposed such is McKenna’s inconsistency. A fast start, nailing the fundamentals and not matching McKenna’s desire for a fight of the year contender should see Eubank win on points or stop the veteran late on.
However, should Eubank not make a dent or allow McKenna a foothold in the fight then it could be a long and brutal night inside the Brighton Centre.

Near the end of 2023, Tyrone McKenna retired from boxing and gave his family and friends a chance to breathe a sigh of relief.
A crowd-pleasing, charismatic throwback fighter McKenna always gave value for money and would put fans on the edge of their seats in nearly every fight he was involved in. But too many tough fights forced him into a period of contemplation and in a January 2024 interview with Boxing News about his retirement he said, “With my kind of style I can’t really take more punishment.”
Boxing’s addictive qualities and the sense of purpose it provides lured McKenna back into the gym despite his final fight being a one-sided beating from welterweight contender Lewis Crocker.
McKenna’s return was a fifth round stoppage loss in a rematch against Mohamed Mimoune in August and further evidence that he should have stayed retired. But such is boxing’s unpredictable nature McKenna put Dylan Moran to the sword with a knockout of the year contender four months later.
Backing McKenna has always been a roll of the dice, now more so than ever, but he will always give everything and leave no stone unturned which makes him a dangerous proposition even at 34 years old and a 13-year career.
Common sense says Harlem Eubank wins but McKenna has often laughed in the face of this and proved that boxing is the theatre of the unexpected.
