Harlem Eubank believes his time is now as he eyes Jack Catterall scalp

Harlem Eubank says he is extremely confident of propelling himself into the world title picture with victory over 'world class operator' Jack Catterall when the pair square-off in Manchester on Saturday 5th July.

Eubank produced a career-best showing with a destructive first round stoppage victory over Tyrone McKenna earlier this year and immediately signalled his ambitions of stepping things up as he bids to fulfil his lifelong world title dream.

The Brighton-based star has yet to taste defeat throughout his 21-fight career, although he would be the first to admit that he hasn't yet faced a truly stern challenge in the sport.

That will change this summer however when he trades leather with former world title challenger Catterall, who many felt had done enough to capture undisputed glory in the super-lightweight division when he was controversially defeated by former 140lbs king Josh Taylor in 2022.

Catterall, of course, went on to avenge that defeat in scintillating style last year before coming up agonisingly short against Californian Arnold Barboza Jr in a final eliminator for a crack at Teofimo Lopez's WBO title.

The Matchroom star's road to redemption now sees him lock horns in a hugely important showdown with Eubank in July, with the former believing he boasts all the tools necessary to not only inflict a third career loss upon Catterall, but do so in statement fashion.

"This is the type of fight we wanted next, a world-class operator, this is a guy that was considered undisputed by most of the boxing public," Eubank told The Ring Magazine.

"They believe that he won the fight (against Taylor) and should have been undisputed at a point in time not too long ago, so he's still right up there - he's the best guy in the UK and he's the scalp I want.

I believe I'm about to make a big impact, not only in the UK but on the world scene with this fight. I truly believe I'll stop him.

The Eubank name is sizzling hot right now, on the back of Chris Eubank Jr's (Harlem Eubank's cousin) enthralling points victory over long-term foe Conor Benn at a packed out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this month.

But whilst Harlem is understandably delighted that Eubank Jr prevailed in what was a truly gruelling and captivating affair, he feels it's now his time to put his name up in lights on a grand stage.

"I was delighted, as you can imagine, but my only focus now is on myself and doing what I need to to really step forward with my career," he added.

"I think I've always had a lot to prove and I feel like every fight I go out there, every fight is a step up, a different level that I haven't experienced before.

"I feel I am continuing to prove that I belong up at world level and I don't think this fight will be any different. I'm coming in here to prove that I'm a world class fighter."

The showdown was officially announced at the weekend prior to Dave Allen's brutal stoppage victory over Johnny Fisher at London's Copper Box Arena where the two faced-off in front of the television cameras for the first time.

The blockbuster bout will take place on Saturday 5th July at Manchester's AO Arena.
