Sunday's Sheffield Greyhound Betting Tips and Odds

16:24 Sheffield - Romeo Falco @ 11/10
16.42 Sheffield - Oscar The Grouch @ 10/11
17:01 Sheffield - Keefill Maverick @ 7/2

16:24 Sheffield - Romeo Falco @ 11/10

This Patrick Janssens-trained speedster has had just one race in the UK, but competed at the highest level in Ireland, including a run to the semi-finals of the Irish Laurels at Cork.

Disaster struck in a trial at Towcester when he ran out and failed to complete, but a brilliant sprint trial at Hove last weekend suggests all is well and he clearly retains all of his ability.

He has landed into a very moderate maiden sprint on the big card at Sheffield on Sunday afternoon and should prove head and shoulders above his rivals.

Given what happened at Towcester, it is likely that he will be a backable price for punters, who can pounce.

16.42 Sheffield - Oscar The Grouch @ 10/11

This talented Pelaw Grange raider crashed out of the All England Cup at Newcastle in the opening round earlier this month, but had previously reached the final of the Classic at Sunderland.

Garry Hamilton's speedy railer has fared well in the trap draw on Sunday afternoon, with a slow starter the only rival on his inside and he is taken to boss matters on the inside early on.

He has shown plenty of pace in previous outings and this step up to stiffer four bends looks ideal, he has nice middle pace and will see out the trip strongly.

He is far better than his record of zero wins from four UK starts suggests and this weak maiden over 500m is a great opportunity for him to open his account.

17:01 Sheffield - Keefill Maverick @ 7/2

Owner, trainer and breeder Phil Milner is represented by half of the field in the £10,000 BGBF British Bred Derby at Sheffield on Sunday afternoon.

It's his classy Keefill Maverick who gets a strong vote despite tasting defeat in his semi-final last week.

His litter brother Keefill Goose is improving and getting stronger with every outing and was able to reel him in seven days ago, but another slick exit is expected from Keefill Maverick in the decider and this time he can slip away.

The likes of Keefill Goose and main danger Romeo Control are strong trackers who will be looking to wind up a challenge from halfway.

However, they may not enjoy smooth passage around the opening two turns and are likely to be nearer to last than first when entering the back straight.

Keefill Maverick is well drawn down the centre in trap three and he can escape, with other frontrunners likely to turn handy but struggle to get on terms with him, while also proving obstacles for the stronger runners to navigate.

Early pace can win the race in the feature race on Sunday afternoon.
