Drawn on the inside of Whyaye Man is Maxine Locke's speedy COOLIOGOLD, who returns to Monmore for the first time since finishing runner-up in last year's Midlands Puppy and can bag a win from the front.

The Romford raider was out of luck against much speedier-types at Oxford over 450m, but meets a different profile of opposition here and can defend the inside rail into the opening turn before drawing away down the far side.

The inside draw is the key to this race - Cooliogold need only be level with his rivals as they hit the opening turn for him to enter the back straight in front.

Diane Henry's Northern Puppy Derby champion CLONA CURLY made a smooth transition to six bends last week when taking down a maiden stayers at Oxford over 650m in fine style.

A classy sort over four bends, he had been short of racing room in recent outings but the step up in trip enabled him to race to the front earlier and show his talents.

He ran Monmore well during the Midlands Puppy Derby earlier this year, despite the 480m trip on the sharp side for him - an even better version is now expected over the stiffer 630m distance.

He can trap smartly and assert before blowing rivals away with his huge middle pace and will be a big player for the upcoming Summer Stayers Classic.
