The superstar bitches are on show in the Brighton Belle semi-finals at Hove this weekend, but so are the superstars of the future with the Hove Puppy Cup getting underway at the start of a high quality open-race card.
Carol Weatherall's Midlands Puppy Derby champion Untold Dollar crossed the Irish Sea with a big reputation after some big runs and he confirmed the promise by landing the £20,000 event last month at Monmore over 480m.
With big all-round speed, this stiffer four-bend trip over 500m will suit and he can lay down a huge marker in his first-round heat.
Two slick trials over course and distance suggests all is well and he can go from front again.
Longer term and with just five weeks between now and the start of this year's Greyhound Derby, he also makes appeal in the outright market as an each-way play at 40/1.
After her demolition job in the first round where she beat Havana Bale Out by five lengths in a rapid 29.80sec, the Mark Wallis-trained superstar now heads the outright market for this year's Brighton Belle at 11/10.
Head and shoulders above her rivals, she can again explode from the boxes and rout her opposition with another fine front-running display over the 515m trip.
Liz McNair's bet365 Puppy Oaks heroine Queen Dusty is on the comeback trail and likely to improve for her outing last week. She reached a number of big finals last year and is the forecast link, well drawn out wide in the striped jacket of trap six.
Liz McNair's Kent Plate champion progressed through the opening round via the drawing of lots after her heat was declared void, although she looked likely to qualify in defeat behind Fabulous Sonique.
The third and final Brighton Belle semi is a great chance for her to bounce back from a favourable inside draw in trap one.
The red box often prompts a flashy start and this classy and exciting lady certainly has a fast start in her locker.
Once in command early on, she will have the advantage of the inside line going into the opening turn and can see off rivals with her fine middle speed down the far side.
She was a lot closer to Crafty Shivoo in the outright market before the opening round and will certainly appeal to punters at 4/1 and rates as the only danger to the jolly for the £10,000 prize.
