Racing Post tipster Dave Clark is back to provide his latest greyhound betting tips for Crayford on Sunday evening, which includes semi-finals of the Gold Collar and Grand National - both worth £10,000 to the winner.
18:42 Crayford - Aayamza Sydney @ 5/4
19.33 Crayford - Bangon The Clock @ 6/4
20:24 Crayford - Allowdale Cazoo @ 6/4
18:42 Crayford - Aayamza Sydney @ 5/4
This John Mullins-trained speedster dug deep to score in his first-round heat, and despite not leading early on, he was still able to post the fastest time in the six first-round heats.
Sent off favourite in the final of this event last year, he can go marching into next week’s final over 540m with a slick exit.
He has been in great form in recent weeks, reaching finals of the Birmingham Cup and Champion Stakes, and it is just a matter of time before he lands a big prize. This may well be it.
Oaks runner-up Icemans Girl is a danger from trap one, but a bright start and the early pace of Aayamza Sydney can prove decisive.
19.33 Crayford - Bangon The Clock @ 6/4
A remarkable story, after suffering a severe muscle injury earlier this year at Monmore, Richie Taberner’s tracker has returned in fine fettle after shaping up well in trials.
Seven months off the track, he had returned in great form and followed up an impressive trial at Crayford over 380m with a brilliant first-round victory last week. He runs the track well - which is half the battle at the Kent venue.
He throws himself across rivals to the inside on the bends, a manoeuvre that can enable him to slip clear and build an unassailable lead.
Early pace and middle speed are a potent blend for the 540m trip, he has both in abundance and this is a big contender for outright honours in this year’s Gold Collar.
20:24 Crayford - Allowdale Cazoo @ 6/4
Romford raiders Droopys Eunice and Allowdale Cazoo are likely to dominate the third Gold Collar semi-final, but preference is for the latter, who is already a big-race winner over course and distance.
Back in February, Allowadale Cazoo landed the Peter Bussey Memorial over 540m and she has the early speed to slip clear again here, while Droopys Eunice has been struggling from the boxes and showing no early pace.
Last week Allowdale Cazoo made all in her first-round heat and that was nine months after her last race around Crayford. She notably moved off at a couple of the bends and is expected to improve for that sighter - she can make all the running again.
