Keith Deller MBE shares his best bets ahead of Wednesday's Grand Slam of Darts last 16 meeting between Ritchie Edhouse and Rob Cross.
Ritchie Edhouse v Rob Cross
Wednesday 13th November (21:50)
Just like Mike De Decker, Ritchie Edhouse has won a major tournament and he is playing like a major winner.
He topped his group in brilliant fashion, has been hitting 100+ averages and he looks at ease on the big stage. On previous TV appearances he didn't look comfortable but he's grown with so much confidence.
His opponent, Rob Cross, has gone off the boil a bit for me. I know Voltage came through in a decider against Peter Wright, but Snakebite didn't play well at all and was nowhere near his best.
I am taking Edhouse to beat Cross because on form, he's the better player. I do still think this match will go a long way, which is why I'm siding with over 17.5 legs.
I also like the look of a bull finish in any leg at 6/4; we know how good Cross is at finishing and I think both players will have a few attempts as I imagine they will both be on finishes at the same time.
An extra play is Edhouse to hit over 4.5 180s at 8/11; he groups his darts exceptionally well and providing we get the legs, he'll get plenty of chances at the maximum.
