Keith Deller MBE picks out his best bets for Thursday evening's clash between Gian van Veen and Ryan Joyce in the Grand Slam of Darts.
Gian van Veen v Ryan Joyce
Thursday 14th November (20:15 GMT)
Gian van Veen has been one of the stories of the tournament - that match with Wessel Nijman last time out was absolutely breath-taking.
Van Veen has the makings of being a top, top player, and he will see this as another big opportunity to go really deep.
He had to come through arguably the toughest group of the lot, and he did that in some style, so it's difficult to look beyond him maintaining that form and moving through to the quarter-finals this evening.
Ryan Joyce has had a good week, he's in the knockout rounds, but that's as far as I feel his run goes.
He is exceptional on those doubles, but I just can't see how he will be able to live with the scoring power of Van Veen, and once the Belgian gets himself into an early lead, I don't see anyway back for the underdog.
