8-1 favourite Corach Rambler won a memorable 2023 Grand National to give trainer Lucinda Russell her second triumph in the race.
Jockey Derek Fox also won the famous steeplechase for a second time, having won on board One for Arthur in 2017.
Nico de Boinville produced a solid ride on Mister Coffey to lead until the last fence, before he faded as Corach Rambler took the lead and had enough in the tank to pass the finishing line first.
Vanillier ran a fine race in second, while Gaillard du Mesnil built on his National Hunt Challenge Cup win at the Cheltenham Festival to finish third.
It was an incredible performance from Corach Rambler, who returned to form in the Ultima last time out and had the stamina and class to win horse racing’s greatest prize.
In the day’s other races, Jonbon eased home in the opener for Aidan Coleman, returning to winning ways after his defeat to El Fabiolo in the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Davy Russell enjoyed victory on what is likely to be his last Grand National day with victory on Irish Point, whilst Sire du Berlais claimed the other Grade 1 race by retaining his Liverpool Hurdle crown.
It was a great day for Dan Skelton as the lightly-raced West Balboa won the Village Hotels Handicap Hurdle, before Midnight River produced a devastating turn of speed to win another competitive handicap race.
Elsewhere, Florida Dreams won the final race of the day, with highly-fancied Blizzard of Oz finishing second for Willie Mullins.

On a cold and wet Ladies' Day at Aintree, Gerri Colombe got back to winning ways with perhaps the performance of the day in the curtain raiser, hardly breaking sweat in winning the Mildmay.
Gordon Elliott will now surely be targeting the likes of the King George at Kempton (8/1), and even the Cheltenham Gold Cup (8/1).
Fennor Cross then returned an 8/1 winner for John McConnell in the Premier Handicap with Inthepocket landing for Henry de Bromhead, winning the Top Novices' Hurdle in the colours of JP McManus.
Fakir D'Oudairies was unable to repeat his Marsh Chase success for a third straight year, finishing a good four lengths behind the classy Pic D'Orhy, and while Paul Nicholls confirmed he wasn't a Cheltenham horse, failing to declare him for the 2023 Festival, he is in the betting for the King George at 14/1.
Apple Away then scored for Lucinda Russell at 16/1 after her two near misses on Thursday, and she exclusively outlined her plans to us for the mare for next season.
Finally, an impressive ride from Liam Harrison saw Punctuation land a 40/1 winner for Fergal O'Brien.
Thanks for joining us, and see you here tomorrow for the big one...

The final race of the day is restricted to conditional jockeys and amateur riders with Parramount heading the betting at 5/1, ahead of Go Dante at 11/2, with Nibiru third favourite at 13/2 (boosted to 15/2).
“She jumps very well, she’s very accurate and very clever and quick on her feet. I remember when Apple Away was just a novice and we felt she was a horse with a lot of ability and would stay, and we’ve been absolutely vindicated in that belief.”
In our exclusive interview with Lucinda Russell, the trainer outlined her plans for her star mare, who's 16/1 for the 2024 Brown Advisory Novices' Chase.
Following in the footsteps of stablemate Ahoy Senor, Apple Away makes all to take the Sefton Novices' Hurdle!
A terrific ride from Stephen Mulqueen, and what a promising future Apple Away has.
Since 2015, winners of the Sefton Novices' Hurdle include the likes of Thistlecrack, Champ and Ahoy Senor, the latter trained by Lucinda Russell, who exclusively spoke to us today about Apple Away (16/1), as well as a well-fancied runner she has in Saturday's Grand National... You can read the interview here.
Absolute Notions currently tops the market at 3/1.
Haut En Couleurs looked for all the money to be winning the Topham but ran out of steam approaching the last, but gets up well to finish fourth.
Pre-race favourite Ashtown Lad looked competitive throughout but was regrettably pulled up before the last, while Bill Baxter was well placed and stayed on strongly to land a 20/1 winner under Sam Twiston-Davies.
The Topham Handicap Chase is set to get underway, with Dan Skelton's Ashtown Lad cut to 13/2 favourite.

We're set for a fascinating King George in December, with Bravemansgame, Galopin Des Champs, Shishkin, Allaho and Gerri Colombe all in the betting, and we've added Pic D'Orhy at 14/1.
It's the Marsh Chase up next at Aintree. Here are selected latest odds:

Rachael Blackmore continues her fine form at Aintree with an outstanding victory on board Inthepocket in the Top Novices' Hurdle.

Could Blackmore's successes so far this week at Aintree bode well for the big one tomorrow? Ain't That A Shame has now come into joint-favourite at 8/1 for the Grand National.

There's absolutely no doubt about Gerri Colombe's 3m credentials and he was foot perfect throughout his Mildmay win.

The fact No Looking Back's trainer Oliver McKiernan, a rare visitor to Aintree these days, saddled the 50-1 winner of the Bowl here in 2012 and has nailed three winners from his last five runners (including strikes at 16-1 and 18-1), only cements my confidence. He is surely overpriced at double-figure odds.
It's Ladies' Day at the Grand National Festival, and the Racing Post's Robbie Wilders has three double-figure prices across two of the day's handicaps - read his tips here.
We're treated to a very wet and cold Ladies' Day at Aintree, where Gerri Colombe is looking to bounce back from a Cheltenham Festival defeat with a second straight success at the Grand National Festival in the Mildmay Chase, where he's currently 4/6 favourite.

Then at 15:30, Fakir D'oudairies (15/8) will go for a third straight Melling Chase.
We'll have tips, news, updates and results here throughout the day.
Well there we have it, Shishkin and Constitution Hill did not disappoint as the headline attractions of the Opening Day of the 2023 Grand National Festival, with the much talked about pair racing to victory in the Aintree Bowl and Aintree Hurdle respectively.
It was a terrific performance from Shishkin amidst a competitive-looking Aintree Bowl field, with the Henry de Bromhead charge forced to battle hard to draw in Lucinda Russell's Ahoy Senor at the final fence with the latter having led from the start.
Constitution Hill's victory was far more straightforward, with Nico de Boinville in cruise control in the saddle as the superstar horse raced into a commanding lead from the outset, although the margin of victory at the finish line was not quite as stark in what was the Champion Hurdle victor's first outing over a two-and-a-half-mile distance.
Elsewhere, the Joseph O'Brien-trained Banbridge reigned supreme with a classy performance in the opening race of the day - the Manifesto Novices' Chase.
The Anniversary 4yo Hurdle arguably saw the race of the day, with Willie Mullins' Zenta eventually pipping Bo Zenith by a nose in a stunning photo finish in front of a rapturous Aintree crowd.
Famous Clermont delivered one of the performances of the afternoon in the Foxhunters' Chase, with jockey Will Biddick helping to inspire one of the most seamless rides you'll ever see over the famous National course.
The darling of Aintree Rachael Blackmore was also able to add to her growing list of racing honours with a triumph in the Red Rum Handicap Chase on board Henry de Bromhead's Dancing On My Own, before Dysart Enos blitzed the rest of the field in the Mares' Standard Open to emerge victorious in emphatic fashion.
All in all, it was a terrific start to this year's Grand National Festival at Aintree, and of course we'll back for more live coverage of tomorrow's action.
Thank you for joining us on Day One of the 2023 Grand National Festival.
