The Cronulla Sharks have been handed a big boost with the news Wade Graham is closing in on a return to action following an ankle injury.
The Sharks have got the season off to a strong start and are priced at 1/9 to finish in the top eight. And now their ranks are set to be bolstered further.
Graham has not played a game for the Sharks this season after picking up an ankle injury in pre-season but coach Craig Fitzgibbon says he is now ready to come back in.
The Sharks are in action when they face the Brisbane Broncos on Thursday night and Fitzgibbon says there is a good chance the former skipper could play.

"He's a good chance. He trained yesterday, trained really strongly. He's got to get screened and assessed this morning and then get through the captain's run," Fitzgibbon said on Wednesday.
"But he's looking really good at the moment. I'll keep that up my sleeve until an hour before. But at this stage I don't want to over commit. He trained very strongly yesterday and I would say he's a very good chance of playing."
The news comes as the Sharks are also set to welcome back new captain Dale Finucane, who missed the win over the Manly Sea Eagles last week with concussion. Fitzgibbon is delighted to have him back.
"He's very important to the team," Fitzgibbon added. "He makes players inside and outside of him better with his leadership."
