Winter is on its way and it's the season finale at Goodwood on Sunday. Here in-form Racing Post tipster Graeme Rodway provides his three best bets on the South Downs.
Tralee Hills @ 1/1
1pt each-way
Lovely Breeze @ 1/1
1pt win
On To Victory @ 1/1
1pt each-way
The opening Wynne Tufnell Alderbrook Handicap (1.50) is a flat race to be ridden by jump jockeys and Tralee Hills can cash in on a workable mark for top-class rider Nico De Boinville.
The eight-year-old has dropped to a mark 2lb lower than when last successful and he has shaped on recent starts as though he could soon take advantage of his fall in the weights.
Tralee Hills was twice placed at Ffos Las in August and ran an eyecatching race when fifth behind the classy Triumph Hurdle winner Pentland Hills at Haydock a couple of weeks ago.
The selection was in the rear early and never that well positioned, but he picked up strongly in the straight to finish never nearer and only two and three-quarter lengths behind in fifth.
Tralee Hills was a good third in this last year off a 5lb higher mark and can go two better.
The 6f handicap (3.00) is a competitive race, but Lovely Breeze looked good when scoring over course and distance last month on soft ground and can bounce back from a poor run.
Lovely Breeze was beaten seven and a half lengths into 11th of 25 in the Ayr Silver Cup last time and probably found that just too competitive. His previous win here was against only seven rivals and he faces a similar test this time, back at this track, against 11 runners.
He is only 5lb higher than when scoring that last victory, has his optimum ground conditions again, and this time the king of Goodwood is booked to ride. Nobody rides this track better than champion jockey elect William Buick and he can be trusted to get Lovely Breeze home.

The Inkerman London Handicap (4.45) is a cracking race and there should be plenty of pace early. Top-class hurdler Goshen likes to dominate and the same can be said for Torcello.
In Goshen's last run at the track, he was embroiled in an early duel with another early pacesetter, Cloud Thunder, and that set the race up for stablemate Aggagio, who was held up.
It's possible Goshen and Torcello might do the same here and set it up nicely for the deep closer On To Victory, who has some solid course form and is well handicapped on his best.
On To Victory was beaten only a length and a half by the top-class Hukum at the course last season and showed he retains plenty of ability at the age of eight when defeated by just eight lengths into fifth behind Gaassee in a red-hot handicap at York back in the spring.
He was well held last time at Haydock, but that wasn't his true running and he got behind in a slowly run race after a sloppy start. That shouldn't happen here with Goshen and Torcello in the line up and there is every chance On To Victory can bounce back to winning ways.
