Hideki Matsuyama claimed a three-shot victory at The Sentry last week and the former Masters champion should be full of beans as he stays in Hawaii for the Sony Open, having won at Waialae Country Club in 2022.
The Japanese star is set to go off favourite for the second PGA Tour event of 2025 but the examination facing the players will be in stark contrast to last week's test at the Plantation Course in Kapalua with its undulating, wide fairways, which allowed players to hit their drivers with abandon.
This week, accuracy and tidy iron play will be essential to any winning campaign and there are plenty of players who fit the bill in the search for a likely winner.
Corey Conners to win and each-way - 16/1
Conners is the second player in the betting behind Matsuyama and the consistent Canadian looks primed to enjoy another strong week.
He finished 11 shots off the pace at Kapalua but his performance was enough to earn fifth spot and he will take a lot of confidence from the fact he finished at the top of the putting statistics.
Conners has reacted well to failing to book a place at the Tour Championship, responding with seventh spot at September's Procure Championship and showed no signs of rust just under three months later when he was sixth at the Nedbank Challenge in South Africa.
He has posted six top-10 finishes in his last 10 tournaments and even though he was an underwhelming 57th in his tilt at this title 12 months ago, he was third at Waialae behind Matt Kuchar in 2019 and he also has three other top-15 results at this venue.
Keegan Bradley to win and each-way - 25/1
It looks set to be an interesting year for Keegan Bradley, who could continue to display some of the best golf he has produced for a decade while preparing to lead the USA team into September's Ryder Cup.
The former US PGA champion has moved up to 12th in the world rankings, having won the BMW Championship in August and has shown that his game is in fine fettle since with a fifth spot at the Hero Challenge and 15th at Kapalua last week.
That effort contained a second-round 64, which should act as a decent building block as he attempts to go one better than last year when he fell agonisingly short.
Taylor Pendrith to win and each-way - 40/1
While Conners is strongly fancied to claim the second prize of the year, Taylor Pendrith is another Canadian who looks set for a bold bid for Sony glory.
Pendrith, who claimed his maiden PGA Tour success at the CJ Cup in May, was seventh in the tee-to-green statistics at Kapalua last week, which should stand him in good stead at this tighter track.
He was 13th last week when he recovered from an uninspiring opening 71 and that came after a consistent set of results from a player who was 14th at the Tour Championship.
Pendrith has claimed top-15 finishes in 15 of his last 18 tournaments and the 10th he posted at Waialae last year should have also boosted his confidence.
