All eyes will be on Rory McIlroy at the Scottish Open this week as he defends his title on his first outing since a nightmarish putting display cost him the chance of winning the US Open.
The Northern Irishman is used to the spotlight, but even by his standards the scrutiny will be intense after he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory at Pinehurst last month when he seemingly had eventual winner Bryson DeChambeau cornered.
The Scottish Open starts a major two-week swing for the world's best, with The Open at Royal Troon to follow.
The Scottish Open will be live on Sky Sports Golf and, at selected times, Sky Sports Main Event.
Featured group coverage is from 08:30 on Thursday, with full live coverage from 13:00-19:00 on day one.
The Scottish Open runs from Thursday 11th July until Sunday 14th July. The first players will get underway at approx. 06:30 on Thursday morning.
The event is once again being held at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, some 20 miles east of Edinburgh.
It has hosted the Scottish Open each year since 2019 and has also staged the Scottish Ladies Open twice and the Scottish Senior Open.
It is a Par 71 links layout, with four par fives and five par threes alongside nine par fours. The architect is Tom Doak, possibly the most successful architect of the modern era and the routing was constructed with professional golf in mind.
The 18 holes were carved out of around 300 acres of pine forest.
Rory McIlroy is the defending champion, winning on a score of 15-under par last year as his sizzling two-iron approach to the 72nd hole helped him deny home favourite Robert MacIntyre.
The other winners at the Renaissance Club are Bernd Wiesberger (2019), Aaron Rai (2020), Min Woo Lee (2021) and Xander Schauffele (2022).
The event has previously been held at traditional venues such as Gleneagles and Loch Lomond, as well as Castle Stuart, Royal Aberdeen, Gullane and Dundonald in more recent times.
The most recent Scottish winner was Colin Montgomerie at Loch Lomond back in 1999.
MacIntyre will once more lead the hopes of a home winner, a year on from his near miss. He has since debuted in the Ryder Cup in Rome and claimed a maiden PGA Tour win in May.
McIlroy defends the title in what is his first start since two crucial missed putts cost him glory at the US Open last month.
US major winners Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa are in the field, as well Masters winner Hideki Matsuyama and European Ryder Cup stars Matt Fitzpatrick, Ludvig Aberg and Viktor Hovland.
