Qatar Masters: Prediction, Tips and Odds

The DP World Tour stays in the Middle East for the Qatar Masters, which is the final event in this region before the circuit shuts down for a week.

This spell of Gulf golf started with the Team Cup in Abu Dhabi, which was won by Justin Rose's Great Britain and Ireland side, followed by the Dubai Desert Classic, the Ras Al Khaimah Championship and the Bahrain Championship.

Tyrrell Hatton, Alejandro Del Rey and Laurie Canter won in Dubai, Ras and Bahrain respectively.

Canter tops the betting for the Qatar Masters as he seeks to penetrate the top 50 of the world rankings for the first time. The Bath man is 11/1 for Qatar glory, with his good friend, Jordan Smith, next in the betting at 18/1.

Thorbjorn Olesen, Patrick Reed and David Puig headed the market in Bahrain last week, but that trio have not entered the Qatar Masters - Olesen is resting, while Reed and Puig have jetted to Saudi Arabia for the first LIV event of the season.

Johannes Veerman, who won the Nedbank Challenge in December, is a 28/1 chance to follow up with a Qatar triumph. The event is being played at Doha Golf Club, which first hosted the Qatar Masters in 1998.

Qatar Masters betting tips and predictions

Laurie Canter to win and each-way - 11/1

Despite not holing his fair share of putts, Canter won the Bahrain Championship last Sunday, dominating the tournament from tee to green.

His swing has been in mint condition this year, with a strong performance in the Team Cup followed by third place in the Dubai Desert Classic.

Canter is sensing the chance of securing a Masters debut through a fortnight of success in the Middle East.

Back-to-back wins would put the 35-year-old in a fantastic position to book a ticket to Augusta through his world ranking and that carrot should see another focused effort in Qatar, where he finished 12th at Doha GC in his last appearance.

Canter is one of the best ball-strikers in Europe and a Ryder Cup place could also be on the horizon if he can sustain this form.

Sam Bairstow to win and each-way - 40/1

Covering the final 54 holes of the Ras Al Khaimah Championship in 13-under par meant 16th place for Sam Bairstow, who followed up with another decent showing in Bahrain, where he carded two eagles and 16 birdies on his way to 32nd spot.

Bairstow carried a cold putter for three rounds in Bahrain last week, but got his stroke working well on Sunday, closing with a 68.

The improving left-hander was finding plenty of fairways and seems well equipped to handle a windswept Doha over the next four days.

Bairstow won on the Challenge Tour in 2023 and appears set for a DP World Tour breakthrough in the coming months. He finished second in the French Open in October and is tackling a weaker field in Qatar.

Matthew Jordan to win and each-way - 40/1

Back-to-back missed cuts should arguably not put the punting community off Matthew Jordan, who could easily bounce back in the Qatar Masters, where he finished fifth in 2022.

Jordan may have been feeling the pace of a hectic 2025 schedule, which started at the Team Cup, but a pair of weekends off have probably recharged his batteries.

He carded an eight at the par-three second hole of the Bahrain Championship last Friday, but was 4-under par for his other 35 holes.

The Wirral man is exceptional at controlling his ball in the wind and the forecast for Qatar is for at least three days of strong breezes.
