LIV Golf Riyadh kicks off the 2025 season in spectacular fashion on Thursday, with the action taking place under the lights at Riyadh Golf Club.
The standard shotgun start that has been used since the birth of LIV will be in use once again this season and it promises to be an enthralling opener at a course known as the 'Oasis of the Capital'.
Spaniard Jon Rahm, the 2024 individual champion, and Englishman Tyrrell Hatton are the joint 13/2 favourites to claim the spoils in Saudi Arabia.
American powerhouse Bryson DeChambeau and Joaquin Niemann, who narrowly lost out to Rahm last year in the individual standings, are both priced at 8/1.
David Puig to win and each-way - 22/1
Very few players in the field will be tuned up for this event, given they are banned from playing on the PGA Tour and some have made the decision to resign their DP World Tour membership.
However, one player who has decided to keep his place on the European circuit is Spaniard David Puig and he has looked impressive in his two appearances this year.
The 23-year-old was third at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship before ending up in a tie for fourth at the Bahrain Championship, evidence of how well he is striking the ball right now.
Puig has blown away any cobwebs there may have been and he now returns to a course he excelled at on his previous trip at the 2024 Saudi Open, when he was fifth.
It won't be long until Puig makes his LIV breakthrough and it would be no surprise to see him lifting the trophy in Saudi Arabia.
Tyrrell Hatton to win - 13/2
If Puig doesn't manage to claim the spoils, then Hatton looks the next best option. The Englishman has been in sublime form over the past few months, starting with a T10 at the Open de Espana on the DP World Tour.
The 33-year-old then won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship for the third time and rounded off 2024 with finishes of second (Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship), sixth (DP World Tour Championship) and fifth (Saudi International).
Hatton then began 2025 with victory at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic and there is nobody in the field this week that has posted better form figures than this.
The European Ryder Cup hopeful also has experience of playing at Riyadh Golf Club, having finished fifth at the Saudi International last year and he should be in the mix here.
Caleb Surratt to win and each-way - 75/1
Legion XIII look to have a very strong team this season, with Rahm, Hatton, the newly-signed Tom McKibbin and Caleb Surratt making up the roster.
After narrowly missing out on the team title last year to Crushers GC, Legion will be desperate to get off to a quick start this term and they are 14/5 to win the team part of the Riyadh event.
Northern Irishman McKibbin should be a strong addition, having persuaded him to give up the PGA Tour card he earned and make the switch to LIV, putting his Ryder Cup hopes at risk.
American Surratt will be competing for Legion XIII for the second season in a row and that experience of the 2024 LIV Golf League, which was his first taste of professional golf after making the jump up from amateur level, will have helped him massively.
The 21-year-old, who had a best finish of tied-12th in Las Vegas in February last year, made his first appearance of 2025 when missing the cut at the International Series India and that will have helped to shake off any rustiness there may have been.
Surratt also has fond memories of Riyadh Golf Club, having come close to winning the 2024 Saudi International when tied-second alongside Cameron Smith after losing to Niemann in a play-off.
