LIV Golf Chicago: Prediction, Tips and Odds

LIV Golf Chicago is the final event of the 2024 LIV Golf League regular season and attention is focused on the Individuals Season Standings - the winner of which will land an $18 million bonus cheque.

There are only two players in with a chance of winning the season-long race - Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann.

Either the Spaniard or the Chilean will enjoy a super-lucrative Sunday at the Bolingbrook course.

Bryson DeChambeau to win and each-way - 13/2

Last year's LIV Golf Chicago was won in fine style by Bryson DeChambeau, who carded a Sunday 63 to charge up the leaderboard, and there seems every chance the US Open champion retains the trophy.

The venue has changed but the demands remain the same - go birdie crazy. DeChambeau has fired a round of 58 on the LIV circuit and appears well capable of doing something similar at Bolingbrook over the next three days. This week's course looks vulnerable to long drivers.

DeChambeau may be at the peak of his powers at the age of 30. His results in the Stateside Majors this year are 6-2-1. He won the US Amateur in Chicago in 2015, so clearly relishes his trips to this part of the world.

DeChambeau is looking to cement his side's status as top seeds for next week's LIV Golf Team Championship. The Crushers are top of the team standings.

David Puig to win and each-way - 40/1

Spanish youngster David Puig has been making a name for himself this year and it seems likely that he will become a LIV Golf champion sooner rather than later. LIV Chicago may be his moment.

Puig is a rising star of the sport who appears well suited to this week's venue. Attacking golf should be rewarded along the forgiving terrain of Bolingbrook and Puig is naturally aggressive. Like DeChambeau, Puig will feel he can rip this course to shreds.

Puig made his LIV Golf debut in Chicago in 2022, so this event holds a special place in his heart. He was third in LIV Houston in June and has posted a top-15 finish in his last two LIV starts.

Away from the LIV circuit, he has also been impressing, winning on the Asian Tour in February and also managing to get in Majors through 36-hole qualifiers.

Thomas Pieters to win and each-way - 66/1

Mercurial Belgian Thomas Pieters may have a greater level of concentration than usual this week as he is returning to his favourite American state.

Pieters starred at the University of Illinois as a youngster, showcasing his enormous potential.

Back in Illinois this week, with some old friends watching him play, Pieters will be keen to put on a show. Given some bright recent form, including an excellent weekend at LIV Greenbrier last time out, the former Ryder Cup star will feel confident of making an impact.

Pieters, who finished fourth on his Masters debut before later winning the World Cup for Belgium, finished second in the Soudal Open on the DP World Tour in May.

The power-packed giant retains most of the talent which made him a PGA Tour star before he signed for LIV Golf in February last year.
