KLM Open: Prediction, Tips and Odds

The DP World Tour returns to action this week with another tournament on its European swing, the KLM Open which will be held in the Netherlands.

It looks like being a competitive heat with plenty of in-form players looking to build on strong recent performances and it could be Bernd Wiesberger and Sebastian Soderberg who get to grips best with the International in Amsterdam, which last hosted this long-standing tournament in 2019.

KLM Open betting tips and predictions

Bernd Wiesberger to win - 18/1

The KLM Open will have a bit of a different feel this year, with the International hosting following three tournaments at the Bernardus in Cromvoirt, and Austrian Bernd Wiesberger could find the test exactly to his liking.

Despite being an inland track, this week’s course has a distinct links feel with plenty of fescue rough that will need avoiding and the central skill required for success appears to be the ability to find the right sections of fairways from which to attack the large greens.

No player on the DP World Tour has performed better from tee-to-green than Wiesberger this year and his decision to return to the circuit from the breakaway LIV TOur appears to have been a good one.

He has yet to add to the eight titles he won before his defection, but that success may not be far away for a player who has finished in the top 25 in seven of his last nine tournaments.

Wiesberger’s last outing was at the European Open when he finished second, two shots behind Laurie Canter and there is a feeling another win may not be too far away.

This looks to be a layout that will play to the strengths of a player who is also strong in approaching the green and it would not be a surprise if the former Italian French and Scottish Open champion added another crown to his collection.

Johannes Veerman to win - 33/1

It does not look the strongest field for a DP World Tour event and there is a strong chance that American Johannes Veerman will be able to make his presence felt.

He was 40th the last time the tournament was played here five years ago, when he closed with a 69, and he has been a solid operator this year, standing fifth in the greens-in-regulation statistics.

Veerman missed the cut at his last outing in the Scandinavian Mixed, but he had posted some strong showings before that with second place in India and two eight spots in the China and European Opens.

That has been the best run of results he has enjoyed since he won the Czech Masters in 2021, so he should be confident of another decent show.

Sebastian Soderberg to win - 14/1

While he has not tasted success on the DP World Tour since the European Masters in 2019, Sweden’s Sebastian Soderberg is the form horse going into battle this week and this could be the time he finally gets over the line again.

He is the third best player on the DPWT in terms of strokes-gained: tee-to-green and approach and he has finished in the top three in each of his last four tournaments.

Soderberg’s latest close shave came when he was second at the Scandinavian Mixed, when he threw his chance away with a closing 77 but a week off may have done him good and he should be geared up for a strong charge in the Dutch capital.

Even when he was 70th five years ago, he posted a Friday 67, so there is potential for him to take a much firmer grip on proceedings this time.
