Indian Open: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Richard Mansell will be searching for back-to-back DP World Tour successes at the Indian Open following a one-shot win at last week's Singapore Classic, but runner-up Keita Nakajima looks the man to beat after he triumphed by four shots in last year's gathering at the DLF Golf & Country Club.

Indian Open betting tips and predictions

Keita Nakajima to win the Indian Open - 16/1

Nakajima won the Indian Open on the bridle last year and the Japanese star could hardly be in better form as he attempts to make a successful defence of his title at the DLF Golf & Country Club this week.

After firing two opening rounds of 65, he was able to close his effort with three bogeys and still capture a four-shot success 12 months ago and little has happened to suggest he cannot follow up in New Delhi over the next few days.

His confidence will be high even if a closing 65 at last week's Singapore Classic was not quite enough to stop England's Richard Mansell from claiming a one-shot victory.

The fact Nakajima's effort came after a seven-week absence since the Qatar Masters offers the frightening thought that he may have had a few cobwebs to clear.

Accuracy is a key requirement at this track, and he came out on top of the greens-in-regulation statistics last week. That is another big plus, as he dropped just two shots in his entire four-round effort.

The 24-year-old looks to have a massive future and he can demonstrate that by retaining his title.

Adrian Otaegui to win the Indian Open - 45/1

It is not the strongest of DP World Tour fields this week and five-time Tour winner Adrian Otaegui, who now plays under the United Arab Emirates flag, could force his way into the picture.

The most recent of those successes came in the China Open in May and while there have been little to cheer about since, there were positive signs the last time he was in action at the Joburg Open, when he finished 25th.

That could have been better as he fell away on Sunday, but he is ninth in the tour's driving-accuracy statistics and that should stand him in good stead at a venue where he has finished tenth and 12th.

He was 26th last year after starting with a 67 and he can make a bolder bid this time.

Gavin Green to win the Indian Open - 35/1

A course specialist who could go well this week is Malaysia's Gavin Green.

He was second in 2017, 16th in 2018, eighth in 2023 when he closed with a 67 and fifth last year when Friday and Saturday rounds of 66 and 64 were the highlights.

Green has not posted a top-ten finish since he was ninth at the British Masters at the start of September, but a 25th spot at the South African Open at the beginning of the month and 20th in Singapore last week suggest he could be moving in the right direction.
