We profile the 2024 World Youth Champion and recently crowned European Champion, 'The Giant' Gian Van Veen.
Gian Van Veen captured his maiden professional PDC title at the 2025 Players Champions 6, beating world number one Luke Humphries in emphatic fashion.
'The Giant' had already seen off the likes of Madars Razmar and James Wade in the event, before proving too hot for 'Cool Hand' to handle, winning in Leicester 8-3.
The Dutch star is also the reigning World Youth Champion having followed in the footsteps of Luke Littler, who beat him in the showpiece 12 months earlier, in capturing the coveted title.
Van Veen survived six match darts to beat compatriot, and close friend, Jurjen van der Velde in an emotionally charged affair.
He subsequently went on to land his maiden ranking event title at the European Championship in October 2025, seeing off world number one Luke Humphries in a tense and dramatic final leg shootout in the final after surviving a match dart.
Gian van Veen is currently ranked at number three on the PDC Order of Merit, his highest ever position.
Gian van Veen is also affectionately known as 'The Giant', with his moniker referencing his 6ft 4ins frame.
Incredibly, the Dutch ace was 6ft tall at just 11-years-old.
Gian van Veen currently walks out to the catchy and popular dance track, 'Astronomia', by Tony Igy & Vicetone.
Gian van Veen is 24 years old, and will celebrate his next birthday on 23rd April 2027.
As referenced in his aforementioned nickname, 'The Giant' stands at 6ft 4ins.
Gian van Veen was born in Poederoijen, the Netherlands, and still resides there to this day.
Gian van Veen has collected £937,750 in prize money over a two-year period in ranking tournaments.
The darts that Gian van Veen currently uses are 21g Red Dragon, 90 percent tungsten.
Gian van Veen has a reported net worth of around £750,000, with his recent triumph at the European Championship and subsequent rise in profile helping to bolster his value.
