Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal with Sporting CP for the signing of Geovany Quenda.
While the 2024/25 campaign is still ongoing, Chelsea have already got one eye on the transfer market, and Sporting's Portuguese winger is the club's most recent coup.
Here is everything you need to know about new Chelsea signing Geovany Quenda.
Born on 30th April 2007, Quenda is 17 years old.
Quenda was born in the African nation of Guinea-Bissau, but moved to Portugal as a child and has represented the nation at youth level.
Quenda will reportedly cost Chelsea €50.77m upfront, with €1.36m expected to be paid in bonuses.
Following Manchester United's appointment of Ruben Amorim, reports linked the Portuguese prospect to the Red Devils, but it's Chelsea who got the deal over the line.
Quenda is set to remain at Sporting for the 2025/26 campaign, arriving at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2026.
Quenda personifies versatility, primarily playing as a right or left winger, but also capable of playing as an attacking minded wing-back on either side.
Quenda is 5ft 8ins and of a lean build.
Quenda is primarily left-footed, but is competent on his weaker right foot.
Quenda is an energetic two-way dribbler, and his ability to take on opponents in one-v-one scenarios is unrivalled amongst players within his age group.
While he does still possess raw attributes, he is technically proficient, and does not shy away from attempting trickier passes in the final third that could lead to goalscoring opportunities.
His ability to play in a variety of roles in wide areas is something that will appeal to Enzo Maresca, having impressed in defensive duels as well as clashes in advanced area.
The Portuguese wide player is physically mature for his age, excelling in beating full-backs with pace and physicality. This was evident throughout his youth career, though it is also something he has shown he is capable of at senior level.

Quenda attracted the interest of Benfica in 2017, where he spent two years in the youth setup before being approached by fellow Portuguese outfit Sporting.
It was at Sporting where he made his transition from youth to senior football, with Amorim handing him his league debut on 9th August 2024 in a 3–1 home win over against Rio Ave.
Since then, Quenda has become a dependable member of the Sporting XI.
Quenda is yet to represent Portugal at senior level, though it would be no surprise if he was in the picture for a call up by the time the 2026 World Cup comes around.
He has, however, played for the nation at youth level, representing Portugal's U17s and U21s throughout 2023 and 2024.
The signing of the Portuguese prospect will undoubtedly bring a new dimension to Chelsea's front line.
Quenda's direct approach to dribbling could bring a much needed urgency to Maresca's attack, often caught lacking intent when in advanced areas.
While the likes of Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto may possess more refined attributes at this current stage, consistent playing time at Sporting is only going to improve Quenda, and he will likely be prepared to compete for a starting spot by the time he arrives at Chelsea.
