Rob Tebbutt provides his best bets for George Liddard v Derrick Osaze as the middleweight prospects get set for their bill-topping bout in London on Friday night.
George Liddard squares off against Derrick Osaze on Friday night, in the Essex middleweight’s first step up of his career.
Liddard is trained out of Tony Sims’ stable and has impressed in his unbeaten ten fight career so far.
Betting outsider Osaze is a game opponent though, and is certainly better fighter than his second round stoppage loss to Denzel Bentley back in August of last year suggests.
I think this is a fight that is closer than the odds suggest, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the underdog have his moments in the fight, and do enough to see the final bell.
Liddard has never been past six rounds before, and I feel Osaze will give him some much needed experience over the longer distance.
A price of just greater than 2/1 for Liddard to prevail via decision or technical decision carries appeal.
