O'Sullivan thumped Ali Carter 10-2 in his quarter-final, whilst Wilson overcame Chinese star Zhang Anda in their last eight showdown.

He most recently triumphed 5-1 at the 2024 World Grand Prix, outpointing his opponent 547 - 130, although Wilson did prevail in the Scottish Open in their previous showdown in 2022, winning 4-3 in an encounter he was never behind in.
