Keith Deller MBE reveals where he feels the betting value lies in Saturday night's intriguing Grand Slam of Darts quarter-final tie between Gary Anderson and Gian van Veen.
Gary Anderson v Gian van Veen
Saturday 16th November
What an absolute belter this promises to be on Saturday night!
Gary Anderson and Gian van Veen, alongside Luke Littler, have been the standout players this week, and both have tournament averages well in excess of 100.
But will it be the master or the apprentice who prevails in Wolverhampton?
Both have won all four of their matches to date, so something has got to give, and I am just leaning on the experience of Gary Anderson as the difference in this one.
Either way this is going to be close - very close, and as a consequence I have been pulled in by the plus money price for this match to go over 28 legs.
I am also expecting 180s aplenty because we have all seen how prolific Gary and Gian van Veen are on that treble 20 bed, and given I am expecting to get at least 28 legs here, there is a very strong case to be made for the two of them to produce 24 or more maximums.
As well as that, the 170 finish has lots of pulling power too.
We've seen so many bullseye finishes this week, and given how good these two are on that treble 20, there is every chance that one of the two or three attempts at the big fish will land.
This has the makings of an absolute Grand Slam classic, one that I just feel Gary will manage to prevail in - by the tightest of narrowest of margins.
Odds will display when markets are live.
