Following his victory in the 100th Gold Cup on Friday afternoon, Galopin Des Champs has been priced up at 5/2 to win the race for a third time at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival.
The 2023 winner headed into the race following back-to-back victories at Leopardstown and went off as the odds-on favourite in a field that included quality operators such as Fastorslow, Gerri Colombe and L'Homme Presse.
Jockey Paul Townend produced another assured ride on board the eight-year-old, as he held off the challenge of Gerri Colombe in second and Grand National hero Corach Rambler, who finished third at odds of 14/1.
Galopin Des Champs will look to emulate the likes of Arkle and Best Mate by winning the race for a third time at next year's festival.
The early betting for the 2025 Cheltenham Gold Cup also includes Fact to File, who was an impressive winner of the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase on Wednesday, and Turners Novices' Chase winner Grey Dawning.
