Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray defeated arch rivals Fenerbahçe 2-1 to return to the top of the Turkish Süper Lig.
The hosts made their breakthrough just before the half hour mark when Osimhen latched onto a pass from Baris Yilmaz and rifled a left-footed effort into the bottom corner.
Osimhen then doubled Galatasaray's advantage just prior to half-time with an improvised header to direct Davinson Sanchez's ambitious strike beyond a stranded Ederson.
The brace moved the Nigerian striker level with Trabzonspor's Mohamed Salah and Amed SFK's Gift Orban at the top of the goalscoring charts in Turkey's top-flight.
Galatasaray's Ismail Jakobs missed a gilt-edged opportunity to put the Lions out of sight early in the second half and he was made to pay for his profligacy when Irfan Kahveci fashioned a goal out of nothing with an outrageous bicycle kick to reduce the deficit.
Despite the route back into the match, it was Galatasaray who continued to dominate and Lucas Torreira was the next player to squander a big chance, volleying over the bar from inside the box.
Galatasaray ultimately held on and were fully deserving of the three points as they recorded back-to-back victories over their old foe.
