Fulham are reportedly preparing to make an offer for Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Garcia.
New Cottagers head coach Alvaro Arbeloa is keen to reunite with the 22-year-old, whom he worked with closely during Garcia's transition from Castilla to first team at Real Madrid.
According to Fabrizio Romano on X, Fulham are set to approach the Spanish giants with the view to signing Garcia on a permanent basis, which will require final approval from Jose Mourinho as the Portuguese coach oversees the rebuilding process at the Santiago Bernabeu.
A product of Madrid’s academy, Garcia made his senior debut in November 2023 under Carlo Ancelotti and rose to prominence during the Club World Cup in 2025, winning the tournament's Golden Boot with four goals.
His performances were rewarded with a new long-term contract until 2030 and he featured in Xabi Alonso's plans at the start of last season.
Garcia made 39 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions last term, including 30 in La Liga where he netted six goals.
Mourinho is reportedly not against retaining Garcia, who has garnered interest from multiple clubs around Europe, but appreciates the striker may not wish to continue in a reserve role behind Kylian Mbappe.
Garcia is not the only Real Madrid player Fulham have expressed an interest in as the west London outfit weigh up moves for Franco Mastantuono and Fran Garcia.
Arbeloa is keen to strengthen his attacking options following the departure of long-serving striker Raul Jimenez at the end of his contract.
The Cottagers have added Jonah Kusi-Asare to their ranks on a permanent basis from Bayern Munich after the Swedish forward spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Craven Cottage.
Fulham finished 11th in the Premier League under Marco Silva last term, losing more matches than they won but only missing out on European qualification by a point.
The challenge for Arbeloa will be to improve on Silva's return, but it's been a relatively quiet summer for the Cottagers at this stage, who still need to identify a replacement for the talismanic Harry Wilson and a new centre-back following Issa Diop's departure to Ipswich Town.
