For the first time in the Open era four British men are in the third round of the US Open, after Cam Norrie and Dan Evans booked their places in the next round.
Norrie dispatched Joao Sousa in routine fashion with a straight sets victory while Evans had a slightly trickier time with Australia’s James Duckworth, winning in four sets.
Andy Murray and Jack Draper had already progressed to the third round in Flushing Meadows, however it has been a disappointing tournament for the women, with defending champion Emma Raducanu and Harriet Dart making early exits.
British number one Norrie is still chasing his first Grand Slam after the 27-year-old lost to Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of Wimbledon this summer, he has never progressed past the third round in New York but will fancy his chances of doing just that when he faces Denmark’s Holger Rune on Saturday.
The world number nine is available at 22/1 To Win his maiden slam, or 12/1 To Reach The Final for the first time.

Andy Murray will make his first third round appearance at Flushing Meadows since his run to the quarter-final in 2016, but has a difficult opponent in the form of Italy’s Matteo Berrettini before he can start dreaming of making a repeat of his 2012 US Open victory.
Murray is priced at 7/4 to beat world number 14 Berrettini, while anyone fancying the Scot to roll back the years and claim the final Slam of the season can back Murray To Win Outright at 66/1.

Jack Draper is certainly one to watch for the future, as the 20-year-old's meteoric rise continued with a straight set victory over world number eight Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Canadian Auger-Aliassime was amongst the favourites pre-tournament but was dispatched with relative ease by Draper with a 6-4 6-4 6-4 victory on Thursday. The 20-year-old Londoner is making his maiden appearance at the US Open, but the manner of his victory over such an established opponent should give Draper immense confidence going forward.
Can Draper repeat the heroics of Emma Raducanu this time last year and win the US Open on his first attempt? It would be a long shot, but as Raducanu proved, it’s not impossible. Draper faces world number 33 Karen Khachanov in the third round and is the available at 4/6 to beat the Russian or 80/1 To Win Outright at Flushing Meadows.

Dan Evans has also progressed to the third round again, the third time he has made this stage in the last four years. The British number two has set up a tie with former champion Marin Cilic for a place in the last 16 after disposing of Australian Duckworth.
Evans has an excellent record in New York having only failed to make the last 32 once in his senior career, however he is yet to progress past the last 16 at Flushing Meadows, and victory over veteran campaigner Cilic would bring him one step closer to breaking that unwanted record.
The Brit is the outsider for the tie, available at 6/4 to beat the Croatian, 200/1 To Reach The Final or 250/1 To Win Outright for his first Grand Slam title.
