Former Chelsea and England star Ashley Cole is reportedly in talks with Bromley as the club continue their search for a new head coach.
Bromley parted ways with long-reigning manager Andy Woodman last week following a difficult start to the season in League One.
Over the course of his five-year spell in charge at Hayes Lane Woodman had led the club into the Football League for the first time in their 132-year history before clinching the League Two title last year.
While the move to terminate Woodman's contract prompted a decidedly mixed reaction among the club's fanbase, the search for a successor is already in full swing, with Byron Webster entrusted with taking charge in the interim.
According to a report from Pete O'Rouke, one of the contenders to take the reins is former Premier League mainstay Ashley Cole.
Since hanging up his boots in 2019 following a short spell with Derby County the ex-England international has amassed extensive coaching experience, first under his former Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard at the East Midlands club.
After following Lampard back to Stamford Bridge Cole has also enjoyed spells as part of the backroom staff with Everton, Birmingham City and with the England set-up.
The 45-year-old was handed his first managerial role in March as he took over at Serie B side Cesena on a short-term contract for the closing weeks of the 2025/26 season.
Cole led the club for the final eight games of the campaign, picking up just one win as the club ultimately finished 11th - missing out on a place in the play-offs.
