Wycombe Wanderers will hope to maintain their automatic promotion charge at the expense of Burton Albion when the two teams meet in League One on Tuesday evening.
The Brewers have turned a corner in 2025 after a disastrous first half to the season, and they head to a Wanderers outfit that saw their League One title prospects take a massive hit at the weekend as they lost to league-leaders Birmingham.
Burton Albion win or draw double chance - 6/4
Defeat at St Andrew’s Stadium on Saturday dealt Wycombe Wanderers’ title hopes a huge blow as they were left trailing in the wake of Birmingham’s 12-point lead, and now their position in the automatic promotion spots could come under threat as they host an improving Burton Albion side.
That defeat was the fifth time the Wanderers’ have failed to win in their last eight competitive games and, while they remain a difficult side to beat, the points they are dropping in draws may cost them in the latter stages of the season.
This extends to their record at Adams Park, too. They have won just three of their last nine League One games at home, and their only meeting with a top-six team in this period saw them lose to Huddersfield.
Burton endured a torrid first half to the season as they won just two of their opening 24 League One matches, but the turn of the year has heralded in a reversal of fortunes, with December-appointee Gary Bowyer guiding the Brewers to five wins, four draws, and just one defeat in their last ten league assignments.
They have only two of their eight third-tier away days since Bowyer took charge, and this impressive run looks a good price to continue in Wycombe on Tuesday.
Under 2.5 goals - 8/11
With Burton looking to keep things tight in the hope of claiming a valuable result, goals could be at a premium at Adams Park.
Wycombe have scored just four goals across their last five League One matches and under 2.5 goals has landed in each of those games, while Burton’s revival has been built on a solid defence and the result has been plenty of tight affairs.
A total of just four goals have been scored across Burton’s last three matches and nine of their previous 11 League One trips have featured fewer than three goals, including back-to-back 1-0 wins on the road.
Owen Dodgson to be booked - 21/10
Left-back Owen Dodgson joined Burton on loan from Burnley in January and has instantly become a regular feature in the Brewers’ quest for survival in the third tier.
However, his game is not without its faults, and he has managed to rack up five yellow cards in just ten League One appearances since January.
Only three League One teams have drawn more fouls than Wycombe this season and attacker Cameron Humphreys is the second-most fouled player in the division, so the foul-happy Dodgson will have his work cut out if he’s to avoid picking up a third-successive booking away from home.
