Wolves v Nottingham Forest: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Wolves have made a strong start to life under Vitor Pereira but they take on an in-form Nottingham Forest in Monday's Premier League fixture at Molineux.

Nottingham Forest to win - 5/4

Nottingham Forest have won nine of their 12 Premier League matches since the October international break, surging up the table and into the UEFA Champions League places.

That represents a remarkable upturn in fortunes for a club who finished just one place above the relegation zone last season.

Forest have won their last five games, including a 3-2 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, and they kept clean sheets in their last three wins against Brentford, Tottenham and Everton.

Their away record is particularly impressive as only Manchester City and Arsenal, the top two in the table in 2022/23 and 2023/24, have beaten them on their travels.

The Tricky Trees gave an early indication of their potential in September's 1-0 win over leaders Liverpool at Anfield and they should claim a seventh away victory in 11 games on Monday.

Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo led Wolves back into the Premier League in 2018 and he will be up against his Portuguese compatriot Pereira on his return to Molineux.

Pereira has had an instant impact at Wolves since succeeding Gary O'Neil. His debut result was a vital 3-0 victory at Leicester and he followed up by leading Wanderers to a 2-0 home win over 10-man Manchester United.

Wolves drew 2-2 at Tottenham last time out, although they rode their luck as goalkeeper Jose Sa saved a Heung-Min Son penalty and Wanderers equalised in the 87th minute.

They face a confident, in-form Forest side on Monday and the visitors' chances of victory are enhanced by the absence of suspended Wolves top scorer Matheus Cunha.

The Brazilian forward, who has notched 10 times in 18 league starts this term, is the heartbeat of the hosts' attacking unit and without him they may struggle to land a blow on a solid Forest defence.

Under 11.5 Wolves shots - 4/5

Wolves have taken seven points from their first three matches under new coach Pereira, despite having fewer shots than all three of their opponents.

They lost the shots battle 9-8 at Leicester, 11-7 against Manchester United, who played with 10 men for virtually the entire second half, and 12-11 at struggling Spurs.

The suspended Cunha averages 2.8 shots per game in the Premier League this season but his likely replacement Jorgen Strand Larsen has had only 1.5 attempts per game in 2024/25.

None of the other available Wolves players average more than one effort at goal per 90 minutes so backing the hosts to have under 11.5 shots looks a good bet.

Forest will welcome back industrious midfielder Ryan Yates from suspension and first-choice centre-back Murillo should also be fit to start.

Everton had 13 attempts in their 2-0 defeat to Forest last time out but only two of those were on target and Nuno's men restricted Aston Villa and Brentford to eight and seven shots last month.

Nikola Milenkovic to be first goalscorer - 25/1

Only the Premier League's bottom two, Leicester and Southampton, have conceded more goals than Wolves this season and defending set-pieces has been a major area of weakness for Wanderers.

Forest's Chris Wood scored a header from a corner in August's reverse fixture, a 1-1 draw at the City Ground, and Wolves have comfortably the worst defensive record from dead-ball situations in the division.

After clean sheets in their first two matches under Pereira, they fell back into their old habits at Tottenham as Rodrigo Bentancur nodded in from a corner for the first Spurs goal.

As well as top scorer Wood, Forest pose a huge threat at set-pieces through towering centre-back Nikola Milenkovic, who merits a small each-way bet in the first-goalscorer market.

Milenkovic has had at least one attempt at goal in 10 of his last 11 league outings and he scored in last month's victories over Villa and Manchester United.
